It was rated at 325, but every LS1 I had on a dyno was lucky to exceed the 30% driveline loss of power at the rear wheels. Most came to approximately 305-315, and bolt-on mods improved those numbers on LS1 SS and T/A would see a best case 45-60 horsepower gain with intake AND exhaust, which back then cost a total of about $1500

But with the right connections you can save money on labor parts and it wouldn't cost that much money

 

It's because of the R&D to maximise volumetric efficiency and reduce emissions. Reducing emissions goes with running lean in most cases, reducing overall engine life, but slightly increasing power in the shirt term. You have to think, with the R&D of Ford and Shelby, they're able to get only 525 horsepower out of a 5.7L engine when Honda got 195 horsepower out of a 1.8L engine in the 90s. It's all about maximising volumetric efficiency and tuning.

They extrude honed the cylinder head, opened up and polished the combustion chamber, went 1mm oversize on the valves, went with stiffer valve springs, stellite valve guides, custom tuned intake manifold and equal length header, custom cams that pushed the power band higher in the rev range, lighter pistons and perfect tuning. Lots of R&D on Honda's dime.

No I payed 60 dollas for my wheels off somebody from cnc and I got my tires for 170 bucks a piece by looking for good deals regular price is 240

 

Ideally, I'm keeping with Cooper ST-MAXX, even when I go 315/75/16 or 315/70/17. They're studable and snow rated all terrains.

 

Tires and wheels are not legit engine tuning work. Bolt ons are just that. Planning is what it takes, bud!
