I had the squeaks for 2 months before I found this thread, I'm happy to say that I've been squeak free for weeks now.

I'm actually looking to making replacement isolator pads out of solid Teflon since it is very slick and more importantly dry. No more grease and having dirt attracted to it.

The grease method does NOT work. It is a bandaid. Anyone saying it does, doesn't off-road their truck very often.

I installed the spring isolators shown earlier in this thread this morning.

Replacing the yellow pucks with these new isolators had the same effect as greasing. The rear suspension is whisper quiet now. We will see how long for. If I hear a noise, I will report back. IMG_3976.jpg IMG_3976.jpg IMG_3200.jpg

Where did you purchase? And how did you install? Did you have to remove entire leaf pack or can you pry them open enough?
    Thanks.

I bought them from an auto parts store locally called Lordco. You can see the "dorman" brand and the number at the top right of the packaging in my photo above.

I installed them with the truck in the air. Hammer and a pry bar, open the leaf at each section where there's a yellow disk, and replace.

The stems needed to be cut to fit in, but it wasn't a big deal at all. Took about 20 minutes total.

Much appreciated. Please keep us posted. I won't have time to do this till summer so it would be nice to know if it is worth it. Thanks again.

I wheel mine most weekends and greased mine with Lucas Marine grease maybe 4 months ago and have been squeak free since. I cover the whole leaf though, not just the yellow pads.

We must have very different areas then, geographically. 2 weeks after perfect greasing it squeaked. Of course I didn't cover the entire leaf like you decided to do.
Only specific areas squeak, so no reason to cover everything.

The material the yellow pads are made of is the problem. I went on a 3 hour mud trip today. Still squeak free.
600km's since I installed the new spacers.

They also touch by the axle. That's why liners are also popular. I do agree in a dry, dusty terrain it would be different and more difficult.

I've driven 2000 km in the last two days. 300+ of them off-road.
Truck and leafs are muddy, still squeak free.
Best $40 I've spent on this truck.

I'm 100% updating this for you. Haha typically I wouldn't have chimed back in, but I know how annoying this squeak can be. Damn near embarrassing at times.
So far much better than greasing.

I am planning on taking my leafs out soon to put in an add a leaf. I guess I’ll be adding in those pads in.

Earlier in the thread people mentioned the greasable pins.

Is there a greasable shackle for us?

Sclar: any update after a month? How are those Dormans working out? I'm about to lose it with my squeaky OME kit.
