After much consideration and research on TW, I pulled the trigger on my first vehicle post- graduation. Looking forward to getting the new rig dirty and finding some hard to reach water to catch some fish out here in CO.

I will probably post more state specific question in the Colorado page, but does anyone have any off-the-bat advice for taking this stock TRD off-road onto the trails? My research on the forums tells me a stock TRDOR can handle quite a bit out of the box, but I'm thinking an upgraded skid plate for starters, and an eventual 2-3" lift/tire upgrade within the next 6months to a year.

I'm eager to get out on the trails, so all advice is appreciated!

Congratulations on the new truck! You're right, they are very capable off road. Just be familiar with all the electronics, have a game plan on how to repair flats on different terrain, and keep some items in your truck in case you need help with recovery like a strap and shackles. Have fun!

Hey! Welcome and congrats. I just moved up to Colorado myself with a new truck as well. If you ever want to do a meet up let me know!

Air compressor never hurt. Just a mini one. In case you need to drop psi for traction to get out, you can air up when you get back to the road. Doesn't need to be an expensive one or mounted to the truck
