installed mine over lunch and love how it fits and looks from inside. from outside, well, that's an opinion but its functional. i got the AVS bug deflector II. time will tell if it works but i think it should as it sticks up over the hood a bit.

Let us know how it works. I've read reviews on Amazon that this bug deflector doesn't have enough curve to deflect air/bugs. Manufacturer or design flaw?

anyone with the avs bug deflector II, is there a noticeably larger gap on passenger side between grille and headlight? seems to be all good but wondering what that's all about.

when i installed i had to actually "squeeze" the one end towards the other to get the screws to line up with the holes but it looks good. jsut has that larger gap- perhaps by design?

Dude this looks good! I've been thinking about getting one of the AVS bug deflectors lately as well as the window deflectors.

My '02 Tacoma had one when I bought the truck, and there it lived for the 13 years I owned thee truck. I concidered long time removing it; never did .Had it not been on there when I bought three truck, I never would have installed it. It MAY have deflected some bugs , how many however I believe was a small percentage .
A small enough a percentage that I'll definitely NOT be installing one on my '16.
    But hey.. ...
    It's an opinion thing.

I wanted something that was flat black and just looked good and a had a sleek look while being low profile. At the price it's being offered for right now, you should buy it. You'll love it. Cancel your order for the AVS. You'll thank me later.

There were issues with bug deflector causing paint chips on the lip of the hood.

Not really my cup of tea.
But it's your truck. Don't worry about what we think!

Drive it like you stole it!!!!!

Keep an eye on where the clips exit from under the hood ans the deflector encounters turbulence and moves while driving it has been known over time to cause that area to start to chip the paint.
Maybe the newer design might have resolved that issue??
But it's alway a good idea to keep an eye on areas that make contact with the painted finish.

...^^^... I am not a big fan of bug reflectors that touch the paint.

The ones that hook under the hood seem to do less damage to the paint.

I have no idea how your reflector works, but it looks good to me.

I give you permission to ... to make your own decision ... :)

I’ve literally watched bugs fly over my truck from it. I say they are a good thing to prevent tons of bug guts on the hood and windshield
