They're capable, but it's not marketable to the public. It's a lot of expensive tech, and Ford owners won't jump to buy a $100k electric awesome mobile. They might be able to recoup R&D costs with sales, but generally, it's not financially viable right now. That's why previous automakers are joining forces where they used to compete in order to combine technologies to save R&D costs.

I went to UTI in 2002. I think the problem lay in training and expanding the technology. Too expensive and most service dudes are outside of their element when it comes to engineering concepts. I took a course in experimental automotive electronics, otherwise I'd never know about it.

Different world in 2002. Believe it or not, I "introduced" a Fiber Optic control system for lighting back in the late 90's. Made retrofit control a breeze - if they only had a brain. Man, I was so cutting edge, my industry had little use for me, until I doubled sales year after year. (NOT with fiber tho!)
You love mechanicals and tech, I'd look for a road back in!

Yeah, I've been enjoying my release from government service so I haven't been looking for work. Trying to get out of the physical portion, since I'm pretty broken right now. I'd take pay sweeping up metal shavings in an F1 engine builder's shop, though. Lol

The army set me up good with my medical stuff, so work isn't a priority, but I'd like to get into mechanical design, the only problem is I have like 5 days experience with CAD and a ton of hands on manipulating metal with tools although I could definitely be better

Edit: maybe I should look for work, to fill my time. I love working on stuff

There's places for that - start with Autoweek.com, got to classifieds and the workers wanted. I will see what else I can do. The place I got my truck from actually sponsors sports cars racing - 360 Exotics. In racing, it's like music, get your foot in , and talent rises.

A cool job that doesn't demand a lot of time, and education into racing tech, could make you a rich and happy 50 year old! Good night bud!

Got a little behind so this is part one

    Hakuna wasiwasi :fistbump:

Nah that was the CV bring a CV for sure!

Don't tell that to either of our livers!

I was doing really good before I went to Utah, lost that momentum, haven't quite got it back.

To my credit, I've been busting my ass at work a lot more now that I'm the only pilot. But still, no real excuses.

    Nnnnnnooooo! Wait.
Get the lower bars and mount it under the soft top.

One of my best PFT's I did completely drink, ran my fastest for-score 3-mile ever at 17:56. All I really remember was was trying to keep my eyes on the yellow line painted on the road and trying to keep my feet on it while I ran. I also remember stopping to repaint the roadway.

    We had it tonight! :D

You know the hover lover gonna have them hover shoes!

The good ones that show up on the peepee tests I reckon :fistbump:

    Part deux

I seent that too and imagine it's a Jambo reference, but who was the fire guy? I miss it?

Honestly, the 3" lift and 255's is amazing on our trucks. They go almost anywhere and maintain reliability as long as you keep your foot off the floor.

Oi! I'ma put me some LED's under my dash. It's a Japanese truck! I'm tryna attract them JDM fangirls!!

    :cookiemonster:

    Yes.

Light bars > lockers all day long.

    This or g'home.

I was being facetious above. I was and still am impressed by the ditch lights. Even on-road I'll use them to spot animals on the side of the highway. Obviously not around other drivers but in the country I've gotten where I dislike driving without them.

The early 90's Honda CRX HF got 55 mpg. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Honda considered it a flop and discontinued it for a number of years.

    upload_2019-5-8_0-55-37.jpg

It's still popular with ricers though.
