your money but i'd skip it unless you have wheels that make it super easy to see the drums

 

you don't have it powdercoated? just naked?

 

It’s the factory paint job, I’ve never touched it. The only things powdercoated on my truck as of right now are my calipers and manual hubs. The manual hubs are really the only thing I actually set forth and made an effort to get coated. The calipers came coated.

 

i got the OEM alloys so can partially see the drums old and weathered, its not much $$ to get those done
the wheels and frame are the big money items

by wheels, i got a spare winter set from a salvage yard that are beat up

 

This kills the truck.

 

and you don't ever have mud or basic water setting on top of it to slowly turn nasty?

 

The cost of new drums is cheaper than powder coating them.

It's dead already not being on the Best Coast.

 

i priced new drums at over a $100 a piece
powdercoating was quoted $25 a piece

 

@BartMaster1234 i grabbed this from your build pics, does you fuel shield look like this still?
it does appear to be blackish, somewhere I know I have seen greyish

I can only imagine what mine gonna look like once I remove the plastic drop-in that has not been removed in 22yrs
the LineX shop needs it out to see what's underneath

 

Nothing. It’s clean. Only rust on the truck is the exhaust, which is just surface.

 

how thick of metal are these plates?

 

Haha man that’s an old photo, I took that at auto tech school. Yeah still looks like that. Think that’s just mud.

the fuel tank skid is 16 gauge or thinner. It will keep you from rupturing the fuel tank but dents super easily

 

Pop up smog checkpoints? Haven't ever heard of or seen one of those. Its like a DUI checkpoint but everyone get's their tailpipe sniffed instead?
