just bare silvery metal around the edges where it has rubbed, always put touchup paint on and wash it down good in the winter, but the paint always comes back off
    no foilage or not much
lots of humidity but no salty air
not sure about what the LineX place will do or if it needs a good paint job to cover all the bare metal, thats gonna be a bit pricey and more decisions to be made

i should just hand in my keys to the dealer get me a new taco and cut the back two doors off :drunk:
and change a few other things...

Quite often it's Rusty under those.that's why they're never recommended to people who aren't on the West coast. They'll rub all the protective coating off the arch area of the bed where the two pieces are laminated and it'll rust a hole through

I had a plastic drop in for 6 weeks and it wreaked havoc on the paint underneath in that short amount of time. I don't think it fit very well though and let more water/dirt under it than it should. Oh well...Herculiner to the rescue

Mine managed to last over 16 years being Line-X and only had a couple little chips if they touched up for free on the tailgate. If you actually clean it and don't just neglect it it doesn't fade

I don't think those would be an issue, I passed the regular smog check easily last time with the 7th I'm just worried about the STAR test because I hear they do a more thorough visual....I doubt those pop up ones do much if any visual inspection. I should pass the tail pipe test no prob

They clearly didn't prep that, the surface should be sanded perfectly underneath and it's just however damaged it was before they sprayed it. I don't think that's Line-X I don't even think it's rhino liner that looks like some ghetto shit a shop would do in the back to make extra money with rattle cans.

That's not nearly enough for this stuff, looking at what's exposed on your bed it looks as if nothing was done. It has to be reduced to more than what a 600-800 scotchbrite can do. Kinda looks like you had Bullet liner done, they were a scam operation that didn't really prep much and used some goofy latex base liner that just couldn't adhere. Think they're all gone now. LineX and Rhino run the real spray in game these days, that shit works.

LineX started in 1993 after they separated from the paint chemical company that developed the recipe. My 1995 truck had it done around 1998 and it still looked great when I wrecked it in 2017

I would change Supreme to Soul and 9/10. I paid $4.55/Gallon this morning at Chevron. $70 to fillup.

it's equivalent $5.79 in the UK, and that may be for the cheap stuff

6.89 in Norway where oil is abundant o_O
