Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Uh oh, somebody just picked up a TIG!!!

I am going to get started on an aluminum intake with heat shielding (3.5” all the way to my Tundra throttle body). I don’t like the plastic tubing and am going to cover the aluminum in firewall heat shielding. Now I mount the MAF where I want it with a clean flow of air and picking up the intake inside the cowl for no snorkel. I have the 2.5” pulley setup but am avoiding any hard pulls yet without changing out the new injectors from FIC.

Making my own intake too but reusing the afe stage 2 airbox/filter. 4" down to Tundra 76mm throttle body. Got a Tundra maf sensor I'll mount up in 3.5" intake tube then just re-calibrate the maf tables to Tundra table specs.

I have an AFE and 2.5" and have always maxed out at 321 g/s without a code. Truck keeps pulling so I'm pretty sure I'm at max MAF. Tested it with both TRD and OVTune

They function similar to fuel trims. Knock feedback is like your short term trim, and knock correct learn is your long term.

KFB defaults to -3 (unless changed) and of values are >-3, you’ll see it raise KCL. Values <-3 will lower it.

KCL defaults to 14 (or 21 in some N/A & TRD cals), and a value > than that means you’re engine is happy, values less than 14 indicate you should probably re-evaluate things.

It’s a lot more complicated than that, but that’s the basics.

You may see occasional dips and drops in KFB, so don’t instantly freak if you see a value like -3.6 for a moment. If there’s a trend of that in a given rpm/load you can address it. But random “hits” occur and are normal.

You can change the units in HPT to display g/sec if you wanted to, to compare. Your HPT logger will have a much quicker sampling rate than the scan gauge.

@JustDSM always coming in clutch with the great easy to understand explanations! As always thank you sir!

Also back to auto trans tuning, going to test some changes right now on a short drive to lunch. Changes made are on the 3-2 and 2-1 downshift, as well as 4-5 upshift and tcc apply in 5th!

Flashed the following changes before going on a short drive to lunch. Results seem good but I will need more time for sure. Decided to go about the low speed hunting in a different way by changing downshifts rather than upshifts to keep smoothness of my grandpa truck.

    The goal here was:

    • Reduce propensity to have to downshift (hunt) back to a lower gear between gears 1-3 at lower throttle openings (hence decreasing DS output rpms of those downshifts)
    • Increase vehicle speed at which the trans shifts to 5 / 5th locked, hence increased 4-5 shift / 5th tcc apply values.
Essentially trying to decrease hunting during slower speed around town maneuvering and race to 5th feeling of the trans.
