I've been meaning to do this for the past 5 years but finally took the time to do it. Easy project that honestly took less than an hour but for some reason it kept getting pushed to the side. I ran a hot and cold water hose bibbs to the garage (Pex makes everything so simple), my house only has hose hookups on the sides of my hose, both require a 100' hose just to get to the driveway. This will help me out quite a bit, I'm most excited for the hot water hookup for cleaning grass off the bottom of the mower deck and cleaning bugs off vehicles. Wish my pressure washer allowed for hot water...

Nice. That’s been on my to do list. It will be super easy for me, water heater is just on the other side if the wall.

The beauty of living alone and being a guy. I pretty much always have a high and tight hair cut, hair in the drains is not a problem I have. :amen:

Big hole saws are tough on drills... one big thing to do is keep the gullets clear by pulling the hole saw out regularly and cleaning by hand. You can clean less often if you drill a few holes around the perimeter of the path of the saw. Don't push too hard; don't be impatient. If the drill is overheating, just do something else. Make sure the hole saw isn't super dull.

I have run up to a 5" on my Dewalt 18V cordless many times and have never had a problem, even thru a stucco wall. Just last week I cut a half cut 3" in a 4x4 to make a rest for the post of a 15" drill press I was delivering to my brother. The one trouble I did have was using a (whatever Home Depot sells EDIT: Milwaukee Bi Metal) 3" hole saw to drill thru flagstone for back yard drains. in about three seconds it barely even marked the flagstone and completely wore the teeth off the hole saw.

That's because you need to use a concrete hole saw.

Lol you were using a hole saw meant for metal or wood. Not a masonry bit.

In my opinion, it (Uponor expansion) is the only choice for PEX. But that's me.

Yeah I burnt up my 18v Cordless Rigid Drill. Puff of smoke halfway through the first hole. Was using the Milwaukee Hole Dozer 3.5" from Home Depot. Ended up throwing a ratchet on it and finished the hole by hand...
That part of my project ended up a bust after I tried to use a jigsaw for the remaining 7 holes into a piece of pine ~1/2" thick. The blade just bent and made all of the holes wonky. Plus I didn't account for the lips on my cupholders so the whole piece ended up a bust. Chucked it in the bin and called it a night. Project 1 : Me 0

Yeah. Just gonna chalk it up to a learning experience and take my licks. I need to just bite the bullet and buy a nice drill press for this. I was putting 8 cupholders into a pine round then cutting it into four pieces to mount into the corners of a game table.

Everybody fucks up, part of the learning experience. I’ve for sure done it with this house renovation, but you gain a lot of information by trial and error.

Next question, so I built this table, and I ran four screws through the bottom piece into the legs, then wood filler over the recessed screws before gluing down felt on top. Hauled the thing into my living room and realized we measured for stool height not chair height. I need to make four straight cuts of 4" off all the 4x4 legs without disassembling it. Thoughts? I did the circular saw method prior to get them cut to the size they are now but ended up sanding them for 3 hours because the saw cut unevenly. Would like to measure 6 times and cut once and be done messing with it. Next time I build a table like this I'm doing it way differently. (Hindsight is 20/20)
