    Frame? Subject to road salts?

I'm on the west coast and don't know if they salt roads in Virginia, but I'm curious to know because my truck spent a considerable amount of time in VA. It probably came from the Norfolk area as this person was in the Navy when he owned it.

Also, timing belts are supposed to be replaced at 90k, I think. If you pay to have it done, it's about a $900 job, with water pump and pulleys, depending on the economy where you live.

With a good frame I'd guess 12-14k, maybe even a little more.

I’ll have to ask about the timing belt. Thanks for that tip. It’s been in central VA it’s whole life and nothing crazy as far as salt on roads

I looked quite a bit on a daily basis and wound up paying 8k for an extra cab 2003 that has some issues and 215k. That was a year and a half ago. It has a lift and I'm probably going to re-do the suspension on all corners and cut the lift from 4 to 2, and a steering rack.

That's a tough call on 15k. Obviously the seller knows Tacoma's hold their value - based on he has a lien (loan) and he spoke of frame rust. It's a super-nice looking truck, though I'm not a fan of DC's or auto transmissions. So many other factors to consider regarding how you're paying, your mechanical ability, and what you desire in a vehicle.

I say the price is fair if the timing belt was already replaced if not 14k.

I paid 11k for my DC Limited with a Snugtop shell and 170k miles in Los Angeles. 15 sounds right.

Because he has a double cab and smaller bed, which is why I refuse to buy one of those and insist on small back seats to have more bed space - but that's me. I looked at Nissan's, but most are auto, 4-door.

My kids are grown and I want more bed space for gear. And I put down my dog. Now it's just me and my wife.

    I was playing with you.

I sold a 2001 4x4 DC non TRD with 72,000 miles for 12k here in Texas. I had no rust, but some rear end frame damage from an accident. Truck was not salvaged, was repaired and drove straight, but it killed my value. I would think you could get it for 12-13500. Its hard for people to get loans for these trucks and most people don't have that much cash to spend, so you can get him down.

    doublecabs are AT only?
I don't know much about doublecab values just curious
frames can be powdercoated, body/bed rust is probably more of a concern?
