Forgot what it looked like with a bumper and the hood shut... Needs a wash real bad

 

I loved/miss the era of pop up headlights!

 

This is the only car I've seen that comes stock with popup lights that don't hide entirely

 

Lol when I was changing the bearings out on my coilovers one of the misalignment spacers popped out and flew across the shed where I keep my tools. I immediately figured it went someplace difficult and spent a half hour looking behind a bunch of shit that hasn't been moved in forever, only to find it laying in plain sight on the floor after I had about given up.

 

Come to think of it I think you're right. I never noticed that about them. Can you turn on the HLs without popping them up?

I have seen it but it's done by body kits and some people do the mod where they don't close all the way but that's not the same. Ferrari F40 & Lambo Countach come to mind but they're not the same. They are actually seperate lights (signals & fogs).

 

Lol. I have played carpet commando, or should I say concrete commando many times in the garage looking for a nut, bolt, spring, clip, etc. Hasn't happened in a while luckily & I hope it don't happen much anymore. I'm too old & fat now!

 

That's actually one of the ways they break haha, the switch will turn them on but the raise initiation won't trigger. But yeah if you pull the fuse for the flipup computer they'll just turn on and not popup... Kind kills the beam though. You can just lock them up but not on with a switch tho

 

I always wonder what people did to do that "mod".

 

Swap led headlights in and have them come half up.

 

The perfect way to make LEDs work in halogen housings... Brilliant!

 

Need help identifying this transmission. Guy says it’s a w56 but I’m thinking it’s an r150. What you guys think?

On miatas people unplug the computer and use the manual adjusters to raise the lights halfway. They won't move if the computer isn't plugged in. If I try to adjust the headlights with the manual adjusters on the Z the computer realizes a headlight is outta place and corrects it. They're only there for if your headlight motor is broken

 

That doesn't look like an R150.

 

Looks like the guy is right, the casting and structure is consistent with a W56. Giveaway is the bellhousing, but it could be swapped.

There's something funky going on with that tail section.

What do you mean? What should the rear look like?

 

The w56 is only the trans, that double transfercase and tcase brake is from a Toyota pickup, drops on the wrong side for a Tacoma

 

What is that, a parking brake pawl? I've never seen an output shaft like that.

 

Driveshaft brake, usually done when people swap to calipers in the rear.
