Anyone want to place bets on how many more threads the OP will start along a similar vein? His Gladiator thread only made it to page two before a mod stopped the inanity...

Saving it for the Bronco and it will be legit. Think I should have the 4Runner go against it though.

doesn't really seem relevant if you want a midsize and don't like
or have no need for a full size. If I had the cash, I'd buy that
Hennessy version. Paid off the taco in 2 years and this is the FIRST
    time in 30 yrs I haven't had a $400-500 a month payment so going
to anything else in the next few years is not in my plans. Hoping for
good things on the next OV update - currently his 87 tune + ECT mode
    is just about perfect.

You can get a Ford Lariat Ranger FX4 for the same price as a F150 FX4 with a Coyote V8 engine and STX package. (About the same price as a Tacoma TRD off-road with the JBL upgrade)

I had two Rangers before my Taco. Loved them both. With that said, I have no intention of going back at this time.

you can get a fx4 with the 5.0 for 44899 over here lol, that's nearly 6 grand less than a lariat ranger. you gotta have a huge hard on for a mid size to want to pay 6 grand more over a f150

The Ram Warlock is also in the same price range. I would like to see this push midsize truck prices down.

I thought this too when I was looking at long bed Tacoma’s. But honestly the width and height of a full size does make a big difference.

You’d be an idiot to buy any other truck if you’re comparing it to an F150...Ranger, Colorado or Tacoma whatever. Honestly it’s not even fair because there is no comparison. Midsize vs midsize comparisons sure debate them all day if you like, but F150 is next level truck in terms of what man is capable of. It doesn’t raise the bar it is the bar :D :crapstorm:

That’s what happens when they get into the same price range though.

I have both. An F150 as a work vehicle, and a Taco for fun. The Tacoma form factor is a requirement for the narrow roads I like to travel down. The F150 would be destroyed, and you are not turning it around on a logging road.

F150s are great trucks. Ride very nice, tonnes of power, quiet and comfortable. I find their styling pretty boring, but everything else is awesome, other than the three recalls I’ve had since I got it last year, and one warranty claim.

With the Ford I got the auto transmission parking pin failure recall, the “seatbelt fire” recall, and a recall for dangerous downshifting (that I never actually experienced). Also my taillights filled with water and they replaced them.

Aside from needing the first transmission revision (it hung in 3rd gear when on cruise control), my 16 has run right since I bought it. Maybe you got a lemon.

Yup. I never saw so many “seat mods” until I bought a Tacoma.

Just stuffed 1/2-inch worth of washers under the rear side of the seat rails. Appears to have helped the seating comfort; I’ll find out next time I have to drive for 45+ minutes.

On the other hand, my forehead now is only 1/4-inch from the headliner...
