Nothing wrong with the OEM one except one thing...the plastic tanks. Thats the only part that really goes bad. So an all aluminium one had the potential to be the last radiator Id ever need.

    Alas..was not meant to be.

Haven’t shared much about my truck. Spent all last summer/fall replacing motor and installing new suspension. Had to hold off on finishing because of the snow but finished exhaust about a month ago and have almost 500 miles on the truck. Changed rear axle seal and brake line yesterday but otherwise runs like a champ. Feels good to have it on the road again.

Edit: Don’t have any good pictures, but should be able to get some worthy ones soon. :D

I've been running hot. 203-206 but I'm not sure if that's because I was running an an auto zone radiator or not. I was just trying something else to help drop my temps. That's why I swapped mine out.

So, apparently, I didn't fix my 4x4 by banging around, as it wouldn't shift in again yesterday. So, replaced all the vacuum lines in the engine bay. Still not engaging, so I disconnected at the ADD, plugged and pulled vacuum on the line from the other side. Kept losing vacuum, soooooooooo, guess what I get to do today!!! YAY, more vacuum line replacement. Since I'm OCD, I'm gonna get 20' of line and replace all the lines I can find. :)

I dig that skid. How does it mount on the end closest to the camera? (haven't messed with the tank yet)
Also: That cat looks like you photoshopped it in... god they are creepy.

That's the thing, it's been so long I don't remember. But I have a 170 on order that I'm going to throw in once it gets here. jiggle valve at 12 is what I researched.

No. You want it at 6 so the jiggle valve is on the bottom so more coolant will flow when the thermostat is closed. That very well could be your issue. Just need to rotate it.

Really, alright. I've been reading that it should be at 12 because it helps release air pockets in the system

The thermostat should be open at 180 though. You don't need it flowing before then so it doesn't make sense to me why when it's above 180 the jiggle valve makes a difference.

I bet you that's what your issue is. Before my radiator blew (either OEM or Autozone replacement the PO had in it) my temps where 190-200 constantly and rarely above 200. Once I put in the Champion radiator I'm constantly 198-203, rarely do I ever get below 195 anymore. I'm gonna throw a new thermostat in there and see where it goes

When I wss trying to burp the system yesterday and I noticed that the coolant wasn't flowing. I'm was forced to buy a new thermostat. I ordered the 170 from URD and Dylan yelled at me and said napa had a 170 way cheaper. But that bullet is down range now. Once my thermostat gets here I'll throw it in. Now I'm conflicted between 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock because I trust Monte and what I read about why it should be at 12 o'clock makes since. :goingcrazy: I just checked the radiator and no leaks. Not 100 percent satisfied becuase I want to get it hot and run it for a while.

Reason I put in a Champion was the constant high temps I was getting. I do a lot of desert running. Have an S/C and that doesn't help keep things cool. Have a 170° Thermostat with jiggle valve at 6 o'clock. Prior to new radiator regularly saw temps above 210-215 (not good!) after new radiator temps are avg 195-198°. Starting to look into some sort of resilient mounting of rad to support frame.
