Anyone running these in 305/70r16? They would be LT 10 ply with this size.. just wondering before I run into issues. Thanks ahead of time!

So they installed all new tires. Still shake. No different. Literally same speed. I was able to watch them road force. They mentioned that one of them they couldn’t balance perfectly. So I’m assuming that’s the reason for shaking still. He mentioned it might be my wheel but not sure. I guess I’ll contact method now? Ugh.

See if they can swap tires on the rims and rebalance. If the out of balance issue jumps to the alternate wheel, it would be the tire. If the same wheel experiences an inability to balance, I would say it's the wheel. Just my personal opinion of how I would track it down.

Yeah that’s a good idea. They won’t be stoked. Due to the fact that they only handled the warranty issue. I didn’t originally purchase my tires from they but well see!
    Thanks for the suggestion!

25k+ on Wildpeaks and not one issue.

I've had 15 of them (3 sets of 5x tires). Never had a balancing problem, and best tires I've owned.

I absolutely love how they perform. Just been a nightmare with the shaking :( honestly hoping it’s the wheel. So I can just replace one.

4wheel parts (who originally did the install for everything) will make their full inspection (again -_-). Hopefully come to conclusion that i have a bad wheel and they can replace one per my extended warranty through them. Will update in a week or so.

I have them currently on my Sport on aftermarket Fuel rims, P265/70/17 so the SL rating. So far no issues for the few hundred miles I've driven, both at normal road speeds and highway speeds of 60+.

Thought I’d add my experience to this thread. I bought a set of Falken Wildpeak SL265/75r16 back in February. They had an intermittent shake in the steering wheel and vibration in the floorboard and seat backs. The steering vibration was bad enough to have to switch hands every so often. I had them balanced 4x at 3 different shops. I then had all four warrantied and had a new set of four road force balanced. All four came in at under 15lbs, two were under 10. The shake continued, no change. I thought one of my OEM alloys was bent. I just had a set of Firestone Destination LE2’s installed on a standard spin balancer and the shake is GONE! Smooth as glass 0 to 80. Loved the look and off road performance of the Wildpeaks, but I am having a kid in four months and I was tired of burning cash chasing mystery vibes. Mystery solved.

    Thanks for sharing.

After the new set, was shaking was still there? All the same problems?

The second set of wildpeaks drove exactly like the 1st. For whatever reason they couldn’t balance on my stock wheels. They may just not play nice with them. The vibration was constant but would intermittently get worse after going around a curve or a change in roadway, leading me to think it was some sort of phase issue between two out of balance tires. I tried swapping wheels to different locations on the truck and the vibration continued. I noticed with both sets three of the DOT numbers were the same and one was different, I am not sure how they issue these, someone may have more insight on that. All I can figure is the vendor, TireBuyer (great to work with btw), got a bad batch. I just don’t have the time or money to spend troubleshooting this.

Has anyone had this here problem? It looks as if some of the threads are peeling on the very outermost layer. It also looks like there some quarting on there, but it might just be scratches. The guy at the tire shop said that its common for tires to do that if they get off-roaded in.

Also, Ive noticed the vibrations some of yall mentioned, but only after I went mudding. Once the mud washed off they went almost back to original, but were never the same.

    So an update for everyone.

I had to travel for work and missed my appointment with 4wheel parts -_-. But i did go back to american tire. Initially they put the one wheel they could not balance in the passenger rear. Still had bad cab shake. I had them put it in the passenger front, not had steering wheel shake and cab shake. Confirms that this single back wheel is causing everything. After explaining all this to 4wheel parts, they are ordering me a new wheel and will be installing next week.

Praying this will fix the problem! Will update!

I'm sorry you guys are having issues with your Wildpeaks.
I'm on my 2nd set (265/75/16 SL) and the ride has been perfect.
I'm on stock rims. Are the people who are having issues on aftermarket wheels by chance?

    Cheers

I’m also on stock OR wheels. Going in on Saturday to have them rebalance the tires for a third time, second time was road force and match.
They ordered a new tire so they can start replacing one at a time trying to find the one that’s out of round.

The wife (2015 4runner) and I (2010 Tacoma) both have 265/70/17 Wildpeak AT3W 115T's and love them. Both of our commutes are about 30% twisty mountain roads, excellent asphalt traction as well as dirt. I'm on my second set as of yesterday. All sets purchased via Discount Tire.

I really like them as well just hoping they can find my issue. Mine aren’t as bad as some others have reported but it’s enough to want it fixed.
