That would be pretty attractive if it was clear at the "off" setting. Price point is also kind of high too considering for $200 you can have a visor that will transition to "medium" smoke (not quite dark but pretty close) in under a minute and you don't have to do anything.

That said, if someone really put in some more research and refinement into this tech, it could be game changing.

I saw that the price was a bit high for the lense. Also noted that the helmet that goes with it is over $1k even at 20% of right now. Fuck that- for that price you could get two complete helmets (one tinted and one clear) and two more for a passenger.
Wearing glasses for most of my life I found that transition lenses are a marginal improvement for direct sunlight (driving into the sunset/sunrise). They're great for overhead light at noon, but that's a very small portion of the day. I carry two sets of glasses now (clear prescription and polarized prescription) if I know I'll be riding past sunset. Annoying but you get used to it. I used to have dual lenses on my last helmet but even then I found the tint to be kinda meh for direct light. This topic has more to do with being prepared for your riding conditions and what you're willing to do or bring with you to make the whole day more enjoyable. Shit happens and even being prepared, I've been caught in the rain with no rain gear or riding in the cold with the wrong gloves. Cold and wet riding sucks.

X2. Id only buy that if it was the only option available. I like not having to do anything.
I personally think the transitions ive used do great riding into the sun. I ride into it on my way to work and home from work without any issues.

Ive ridden in all types of weather. Single digits to pouring rain. Transition visor is my favorite piece of gear for the street.

Any issues with oncoming traffic at night with these?

    I've never had an issue.

Lense remains clear even with constant oncoming traffic.

I need to pick up a transitions for mine, that would be a lot more convenient than switching out shields.

I just bought one yesterday, it was expensive but I finally just decided it's worth it so I don't have to swap shields all the time

Yeah I rarely ride at night but even on a cloudy day the smoked shield can be a little dark. One less thing to worry about is nice so I'll prob get one soon.

Me too but depending on the season it's a little too dark when I ride to or from work

Also right now I'm taking an EMT class from 7pm-10pm, so if I use my clear shield I am blinded by the sun going down when I go to class or if I use my tinted shield I can't see the damn road when going home

And as an EMT you're always going to receive flak for being an organ donor, so you're going to appreciate the added comfort and safety the transition lense adds to your ride.

I'm an actual organ donor riding on something that may accelerate that process, but don't tell my fiancee!

I've been a fireman for about 9 years and had the basic first responder cert, but finally taking a bridge class to EMT

Same here as far as the organ donor part is concerned. No one is going to want my liver though.

Good for you, bro. I graduate from my city's fire academy at the end of the month, and I'll retake my EMT-B course in August if not sooner in the summer. Was an EMT-I many moons ago, but I let the CE and cert lapse.

Got to ride my friends GSXr-600 this weekend. Didn't realize how different the seating position really is on a sport bike, I was thrown way off at first. I felt like I was in a couch when I got back on my Cb500f.

That power is addicting, I'm gonna need to start saving some $$$....

    What year is it?

    I had a 2001 for a while... wasn't pretty but definitely a fun bike.
