Yeah I am probably closer to the rides in Pocatello, ID than I am the rides down where you are. We went to a graduation at UVU last weekend and I really wanted to take the bikes so we could do some of those trails at Corner Canyon but the family had filled up all of the time so no chance to ride that area for the first time.

I feel ya man, I rode a 160/150 bike on my local xc style trails for a year. It was slow, heavy, and hard to do haha. A buddy of mine has a Spectral and absolutely loves it. If it wasnt for YT the Spectral was a close second choice.

    Daaaaamn thats a sexy photo

No you don't. Of all the trails in this are, CC is by far the lamest. Except maybe Jacob's Ladder. Rush is a good one if you haven't done it, but a few times on that and you've seen enough. It is one of the few things open right now in town though.

Bobsled in SLC or some of the trails in the Spanish Fork/Payson area are WAY better.

The Orem bench has a few good ones too, like Squaw Peak or Shooter.

I'll look into those. Right now I stick with rides that at most are rated blue, usually more green/blue. I typically ride with my wife and she is a bit more timid and with the new bikes we having been slowly trying to build up our skills.

In that case, CC would be a good match. They are pretty renown for being hella neutered compared to the rest of the area but are good beginner trails. Lambert Park in Alpine is also a fun area. You can take beginners there, but there is some fun stuff for more advanced riders if you use your imagination.

Fruit Loops in Fruit Heights would be good for you as well and much closer.

Stay away from Squaw Peak but Shooter would be fine in Orem. It is steep, but isn't chunky.

Bobsled isn't too bad. I rode that my first season. The top is a little tricky, but the rest is just this smooth flowy area you can get really fast on or go as slow as you want. All the jumps and stuff are optional.

Gimme a shout if you are down this way, and I'd be glad to join ya. I just like riding bikes, doesn't matter how fast or slow.

Will do. I don't make it down that way very often, but looks like there is some good riding. I am just trying to get back in shape. I hit 40 last year and all of the sudden shit stopped working and it was hard to maintain the level of physical activity I was used to. This led to packing on a few pounds that I'm trying to shed without overdoing it and causing the injuries that led to the weight gain in the first place.

The Norco and the Ripley are both good looking offers. I'd go with the Norco but thats just me.

I also have a soft spot for DeVinci's and they are bombproof bikes. I know @abacall does as well.

Haha yea I've been chatting offline with Phil a good bit about the Devincis. I really like the Django. These first three bikes listed are just better kitted bikes for the money than most of the Djangos I'm seeing.

Agreed. I would go Norco, Ripley, DeVinci in that order.

Gotcha. The top three can all be had for similar money, with the Norco being the cheapest. The Kona has the I9 wheels which are sexy. The Norco and Ripley are both carbon, but the Ripley does have a budget spec build. Decisions decisions

The Kona is also a few years older. Go for the better spec Norco if the money is right.

The intense looks good as well, but I think they were having some frame issues for a while.

This is the Kona with the I9 wheels. Basically a new bike.

Oh, THAT Kona. I wrote that one off because of the revelation fork and shitty rear shock. The rest of the bike looked good though!

    Bahaha :rofl::rofl::rofl: Good point.

I think I’ve only been keeping that one on the short list because of the wheels. Which is probably dumb :notsure:

That’s also why I posted and wanted feedback on ‘these’ bikes. I know bikes, but I don’t KNOW bikes like some of you do.
    Thanks

I'd go for the Kona or Norco. Best builds, modern standards.
