This makes me smile. Gotta love the internet -

Internet: put it at 12 o'clock

"After a bunch of internet research, I've discovered the jiggle valve goes at 12 o'clock"

    Internet: NOOOOOOO! Opposite!

    "OK"
Of course, the guys here are right - it's 6 o'clock - but would be nice to not have the confusion out there. My step-by-step timing belt/water pump write-up has it all covered as well, and just for posterity when someone else searches as decides not to say "OK," here's the FSM, where it's clearly at 6 o'clock.

    Nice truck, neighbor!

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but I think your flag decal below your mirror is on the wrong side. Pretty sure the union (stars) want to be pointed forward if you care about that sort of thing (I’m guessing you do if you have the decal in the first place :)).

    See you around!

    April 10, 2019.

I'm not really sure how to start this post. I mean, what can I say except that it was inevitable that I'd eventually drive something besides a 1st gen Tacoma. We all will - that's the harsh reality of life, the harsh reality that we and our trucks are getting older, the reality that eventually, we'll all have to make a change.

This trip started out unlike most others. We didn't climb into the truck, instead we climbed onto a plane. And at this point, @mrs.turbodb didn't know anything about the surprise waiting for us in California.

Doesn't hurt to double check with guys here. There are a few here I've known for a while that I trust. So when Monte corrected me it really had me thinking. Another reason to have this Fourm. Experienced people here that like to help.

Unless it's a 2 or 3RZ-FE, 6 o'clock is correct. Here is the FSM shot for those engines:

I think this difference is probably why "the internet" gets confused about how to align it.

I'll make sure to grab a video of how much play is in my current, one-year old LBJs as I swap them.

New ones are on the bench, just need to finish my current projects.

That video was from a year or so ago. I should probably give my new ones a check...

Eh sorta. I mean that is why you burp the system and you do it at tempature because then the full thermostat is open.

I found it best to fill the motor from the top down, then top off the radiator. Let it run for about 20min with the cap off keeping an eye on the coolant levels.

 Sorry been busy this morning but seem to be all squared away.

I didn't hear on the video but maybe I missed it...so this is an acceptable amount of play for the LBJs or is this considered unacceptable? Mine are the same as in this video

Nothing to the Tacoma but went deaf in one ear. Now I can say I didn't hear my passenger say no or stop on a trail20190508_140859.jpg
