I capped that a long time ago when I tubbed my fenders. This is the hole that is left where the pump used to be. I made a cover out of plexi. Was just curious as to what everyone else did.

I very much appreciate you guys not sharing the maps openly. I'm happy to give you complete access and the freedom to see what you're getting from me, but I'd very much appreciate the maps I provide be kept off open forums.

So you've not felt any improvement over the TRD tune with the one I've supplied you?

ABSOLUTELY! This is your work, not something for me or anyone else to share specifics on, as always you have been amazing explaining changes and showing where you made changes on a one on one. Again, THANK YOU for everything!

To piggy back off VVTi tuning, I wonder how ACIS plays into this (considering ACIS is ONLY activated stock in a medium rpm range ~2200-4100 at higher throttle, which also just so happens to be where a good amount of VVTi angle is and has been added above). @Torspd In the stock intake, does the ACIS actually increase intake runner length or simply change acoustic properties to make things better for NVH numbers?

In gas mileage? Umm, no. Maybe if I had open highway and could set the cruise. Maybe too much time in Mexico.

I see. I misread your reply thinking you did not feel a performance improvement. I do find it a little odd you're not noticing the mileage improve given the grossly over-rich fuel compensation provided by the stock TRD COT mapping has been "tamed". Never-the-less, good to know!

Yeah, now I have the potential for better mileage. Not saying I care too much. I'd drive this if it got 6mpg. But hey, it takes a certain amount of fuel to make hp. This truck runs so smooth now. I cant wait to see what tuning changes are for methanol. NX is working with me on a pump replacement. It died after 1 year.

Alright guys, the baseline dyno on s completely stock 08 4x4 is done. While I was expecting a little more peak gain to show, there just isn’t much that can be done with a stock setup I guess. It should be noted that I have seen a 1.5 mpg increase and my drivability score is much higher than stock. Below is the pdf and here are what they mean.

    Runs 1&2 - @JustDSM tune V101
    Runs 3&4 - Stock
    Runs 5&6 - @JustDSM tune V1

While I can’t say it’s huge HP gains, hell its negligible to be honest. I do like where the small gains happen and I’m much more happy with the way the truck runs now vs when I bought it. I will be doing basically the URD stage 4 NA package next and letting Justin tune it to see if we can match (hopefully beat) the +50 numbers advertised. Huge thanks to @JustDSM for getting me started and being such a great help to all.

Yep, the results were not like we had hoped, but they are what they are. Thanks for taking the time and money to put your truck on the dyno! Not many pony up to play that game, so you deserve the credit there :hattip:. I just wish we had a little different results to show everyone how differently the truck is with the tune.

Thanks man, it was my pleasure testing it. Some things can’t be quantified, there is no way I want to go back to stock, no matter what the numbers say. I’m looking forward to see where we can take it from here.

You should ask them to place a stock run and tuned run graphs on the same sheet for you. Best way to compare where the gains were. I could care less about peak power increases, but if I get 20hp mid range that is huge. And especially being stock, that is where you want the increases.
