Weird man, 91 base was lightyears better than 87 base and performance for me

very, that's why I figured 93 base was going to be much better than 87 perf + ECT
but so far that one has been the best but like I said, if 93perf. didn't have the crazy
    tip-in, that one was money.

Screw You!!! All I see is Rationalization after rationalization of Tacoma short falls.
You have to add all those bolt ons and tunes just to come close to Rangers drivetrain abilities,

I get you are blinded by everything Tacoma. And majorly butthurt at that when challenged. I get 22MPH around town and 27 on the highway and More torque and much better performance STOCK....and it's capable of 385HP with a tune, My Tacoma never came close to either number stock with less HP and towing capabilities with a SIX CYLINDER!!!!

The 10 Speed transmission used in the Ranger was a joint effort by GM and Ford. It is seamless. This OVTUNE thread has well over 2000 posts That alone is good enough reason to pass on the 3rd Gen when people are that famished for better performance

"One more thing to break" is why Toyota has not updated the interior, Engine, Drum brakes, Entune is a joke next to SYNC 3. But yeah the less a truck has the less to break. The more Toyota sells the less they want to update the trucks.

I will take another look at Tacoma in three years because I am not beholden to ANY BRAND. That includes Ford. Today IMO the Ford is a ton better, The bed is deeper which I need.

I had four Tacomas, the 2016 being the last. I know them, loved them all except the 2016. I bought that truck blindly and will never do that again, I researched the hell out of the EcoBoost and the 10 speed. I also had a couple of Rangers so I am not afraid of Ford initial reliability, I buy a new vehicle every three years Long term reliability means nothing to me. I like up to date tech too much to drive a vehicle for five years.

While I do agree with you, please don't feed the trolls. I stopped engaging with that one when it was apparent it's reality was in a different universe. It did go away for a few weeks until you quoted it again.

Did you clear values before flashing?

no, just flashed. I've never cleared them when changing tunes and have never had
any issues. Think that may help?

I don't give a shit about Ranger vs Tacoma, or which side you're on. Can we please keep this goddamned thread about OVTune?

I cleared values after flashing and 93 Base definitely has more low/mid end than 87 Performance with 89 gas.

I am running 87 base with ECT on mod, and it’s pretty good, but I am thinking about loading performance and still using the ECT on mod. Do you think it will be too much with stock tires?(I’m running stock) Are you running larger tires?

87 perf + ect felt pretty damn good, I'm just looking for more power. Never tried 87 base.

93 perf + ECT and I could spin those KO2's a bit from a stand still. :D if the tip-in were the
same as 87 perf. my tuning would be done. Just gotta find the right combo for me.

    KO2's but only 265/70/17

Yeah perf feels much better to me than base did. I ran both 91 tunes and perf hands down is the better of the two.

@OVTune is there a way for you to do the gearlock without the insane throttle response of ECT?

You’ll want to clear learned values. Clearing DTC won’t do anything. DTC stands diagnostic trouble code.

Clearing the learned values MAY help. It may not, but worth a shot. Clearing learned values is a function Mat is integrating into his software. If it’s not available yet, Techstream can do it.
