It blows my mind how cats can sleep like that, I would fall off with 5 minutes

From what I understand the calibby coat is pretty unusual.

We boxed him up this morning and the wife took him over to the vet. He will be slowly and gently sedated over a few hours to make sure his ticker is still okay for the procedure, and if so the surgery is at noon. If there are no significant complications we'll have him home tonight. I'll be working from home tomorrow so I can look after him. We're super worried, but are confident that we are making the right choices for him.

Thank you so much for the moral support. Means a lot.

UPDATE: Henry is out of surgery and is recovering from his anesthesia now. In addition to the ear lesion, they removed a second bump that they found on his back just in case. They also checked his teeth while they had him there - along with everything else, he has tooth resorption disorder. The receptionist didn't know if any dental work was needed. Our biggest concern was his surviving the anesthesia, so we're just thrilled that he's coming around. They told us that we can pick him up at 6:30, so we'll be there at like 5:00 :)

    More when we get it...

I victim blame my wife's cat all the time by telling him "if you weren't so damn cute I wouldn't harass you with pets all the time"

Was he a feral rescue? The one ear looks like it may have been clipped like the city does to feral cats that have been fixed, at least around here.

Either the floor is lava, or it's an apathy recharge zone.
