I wonder if the intake scoop will interfere with my DIY radiator shroud. I’m thinking it shouldn’t since the stock plastic cover fits.

If the stock cover fits, the scoop should fit no problem.

The top of the scoop attaches to the same place that the top of the cover does, and the bottom part slides over the top of the radiator, to pull air from the grill

@DiamondW did they let you do the runs or did they drive your truck on the dyno?

Advance the cam more, and you'll see better improvements.

Also if you're trying to make improvements on 87 (no idea if that's the case) it's kind of a waste of time.

Doh!!! And maybe someone can chime in, but is it normal to start the runs at such a high rpm? I mean it doesn’t matter for peak power, but because of where these were started and how inconsistent the starts look, I’m seeing 50+hp losses in the 3250-4000 rpm range on the tuned runs. Could be my phone making it hard to differentiate colors, but that cannot be right.

If the dyno operator is trying to prevent a downshift they start runs at high rpm.
You kind of need a map to lock the gear if you want to test maximum potential, but it's not comparable to stock form cuz youll never see it stock form.

Looking to that, and 93 octane all the way. Thanks.

 I had a hunch and thought I had heard that before with the auto trans. Sucks that you can’t really see the lower end gains as that is where the majority of people drive the majority of the time.

It shortens the runner length after a specified rpm. It makes drastic changes in the torque and HP curves. I have a dyno of this in all three operation states. If y'all would like to see?

OH GOD YES, please share if you want.

Like stated, currently its only "activated" stock in the mid rpm and high Throttle range, NOT at high rpms high throttle or any low throttle openings or low rpms.

So when its activated it shortens, so otherwise in a resting state its in long runner length?

93? Throw some ignition at it. You'll make more going richer + ignition vs leaning out and less ignition.

Technically you could alter trans downshift tables pretty easy to make it to where it wouldnt downshift out of 4th, and lockup way early in 4th to do a true pull in an auto.
