Oh, never mind ROAD TRIP! I didn't see the ship price - heck either one is good! Can't road trip for that price - would not even buy the soda!

Wow thats interesting! I have always wondered what in the heck goes on inside an automatic trans that makes it go lol.. we'll have to talk sometime about this when i can pick your brain. Im gonna have to do some digging to find a rebuild kit if i end up doing that. Not sure if they even make them. I know i started looking for a rebuild kit for my 6spd and i had a hard time coming up with anything. Might not be worth the money to rebuild, but would be cool to open it up and take a peek

Yes sir! The next cheapest alternative was one for 400 in austin with 110k on it. I wouldve had to pay tax on that though, so i think i made off like a champ.

Almost all AT have rebuild and mod kits, tho I haven't looked in years. Try B&M Transmissions on line, if they still in bidness (me being old and all)

Heck, you REALLY did good if you just look at cost. Bet you can't get a kit for a lot less.

glad you are up high! We might get some stuff much later. All the severe should be gone by then. San Marcos was CLOSE to getting a Tornado warning, and it all just died off. that's only 20 miles West.

I haven’t rebuilt an auto since my 2nd Toyota back in 97. Haven’t needed to since all I’ve driven is Toyota’s. But I still have my books but none on Toyota’s. I plan and do my transmission when needed in the tacoma all I need first is the book. Then tools. My transmission behind that bb would snap your head back at 70mph. Wouldn’t last long but it wasn’t built for dd.

Nogalitos gear on the south side used to have everything you could think of. My old roommate was a third generation transmission builder and I used to drink beer while he worked.

    Nice an highly impressive.
However I feel I am a little to long in the tooth for a career change and initially I’d take a drastic paycut an I don’t make a whole lot now. Plus I still enjoy what I do most days.

I remember one night I was street racin at bun and barrel on a Friday night. I won but never got out of the throttle till I got home on south side. Saturday am found out I cracked my trans in half and the flywheel. Between nogalitos gear and picknpull I had another trans, converter, rebuilt, road tested and drove it to work Monday am.
That was a lifetime ago though, I couldn’t do that these days.
