Screw Costco tire center. Went Monday to do a rim swap and it was too busy so I made an appointment for today.

Had jury duty today so called and told them I probably couldn't make it but I'll be in later as a walk in.

I rush in because they had an opening. I get there and they tell me they cant do it because I didnt buy the tires from them (I buy tires for other cars all the time there).

Not once did they tell me that with the 3 prior interactions I had with them.

Why did you get rid of the hoops? I personally like the center hoops for lighting.

Couple reasons, the headlight hoop had to go to fit with the new fenders and bc i always liked the clean look of no hoops.

So now i need to get the bumper widened by 2” each side (then re powdercoated) OR get the pre runner style bumper i really want and give this bumper to my little brother for his truck.

And as far as lighting, its got mounts for 2 pods and a 20” light bar so thats all id ever put on it anyway. Lighting is lower down on the list of to do’s however.

You're absolutely right, when you're in a public place you have no reasonable expectation of privacy and anyone could take a picture of your vehicle with visible plates at any time, but there are some differences if they then post that picture. Randomly encountering you on the road is one thing, having a static image posted to the internet for all time that can be redistributed and used, and will potentially be seen by far more people, is another. Say for example when someone posts a picture of a coal-roller with visible license plates and out come the pitchforks and burn report him chants. Maybe someone seeing you on the road doesn't know what's in your truck, but someone seeing the image along with your build thread and post information gathers enough to figure out where you are and you never bother locking your truck. Or maybe you have a pic taken that looks like you're off trail, even if you aren't, and someone picks that up and here comes those pitchforks and internet justice again (doG help you if you are off trail). I know, the immediate counter-argument to most of that is 'if you're not doing anything wrong it shouldn't be an issue', but that's such a slippery slope and easily flippable argument...

Like I said, some people care, some don't. At a point it's also a bit of an etiquette thing (as in posting pics of others) since you don't know who does care without asking, but then you're back to that reasonable expectation of privacy thing.
