    Found a rebuild kit for 198 bucks.. Not sure how thorough that kit is, as I've never torn one of these apart. Seems cheap enough to use as a practice run to rebuild this one so I can do it myself when my 6spd finally craps out. Looks like this kit is missing synchros, so that would be another added cost. I did look into putting a R156 out of a 3rd gen in this, but, they're all 4wd and very expensive. Cant beat this for cost

    Awesome, looks like theyre still there. Might try looking here for parts as well, thanks man!

    Sweet, i wish i knew someone that built transmissions. Would be cool to sit back and watch them tear into things. I think you had the right idea:cheers:

    :LONG in the TOOTH? :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Kids these days go through 5 + CAREER changes, and more job changes in their young lives. Corp world has no loyalty to them, so vice versa! Now someone like that grew up with the idea you find a real job, stay there, and get rewarded - well, unless you are a CEO I am sadly among the last of that line.
    You need to go where money and life is good for you and yours. You are nowhere in locked in age!

    Your absolutely right Kurt. To be honest I just don’t have the desire like I used to I’ve grown comfortable right where I’m at in life.

    totally understand. But after I got hired for a job that didn't exist, I busted my ass the next 35 years creating jobs that didn't exist so I could stay employed. Your wife being a nurse, there's nowhere the two of you can't go if you decide to, and no kids. Hell, you could just open a "Parts Exchange" bizness with the right model!

    You are unfortunately(mostly) correct! Back in the day, we still had wood, auto, and even home "shop" classes in HS. So you could at least experience it.

    Lol I’ve thought about that but the market ain’t to big an too many other competitors with big budgets.
    Your right about leaving but her family is here so she won’t leave them. I’m not gonna make any excuses if I had to I would do whatever it took to make ends meet. I’ve worked an busted my tail all my short adult life to get where I’m at an it’s a solid career an I work for a great company.
    Days like today I still can’t fathom getting paid for doing absolutely nothing but goofing off. So greatful for what we have.

    Then, you are in the right place, right now. Next, would be to sluff off making someone else pay attention! That's what good Managers do!

    I tell you, the talents I have seen around this group, if I had retired with more 000's, I'd open a small shop with equipment in multiple small towns around the big ones, let the boys work on "low rent" stuff they know, make enough to provide it without rent, and some minor benefits. A small "chain" of TTC budget shops if you will. Alas, I got a couple 00's short of that. It would be a fun thing to organize!

    Me too, and even drafting in HS - but teach hated me messing up the T square because I was a leftie!
