the best part is I can fit a couple surfboards in the back AND give my stupid, vape-cloud-blowing friends the finger when they want a ride

You put people in the access part of your access cab? For real?

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
I have had several Tacoma's and all were Double Cabs - Short Beds ... until the Access Cab I have now ... I love this A/C for what I do now.

Never had a long bed before and it really comes in handy with this A/C and it's still short enough to park without a long overhang.

I toy with the idea of an access cab from time to time. It is definitely more proportional looking.

I had a 2000 access cab and loved it to be honest. Having the bed was sure a plus! I got a 3rd gen DCSB, miss the bed but love being able to easily put/grab stuff out of the back doors. I did the DCSB because I didn’t want the wheelbase.
Trade off, but they do make trailers that lowers your fuel mileage..

I did the opposite. Started with access, and traded for a double cab sb. Was all based on needs.

My only regret is when I have no choice but to take more than one passenger. Then I really really wish I had a DCLB. But those aren't offered with a manual if I remember. I do like the manual in my 07.

@SkinnyP2 Btw my TTR 230 fits in the bed of my access cab diagonally with the tailgate closed. Also my buddies 300EX fits in the bed with the tailgate closed. When we have my bike and his CR250 they go straight in with the tailgate open. I've never hauled just his CR by itself but I think it would fit diagonally with the tailgate closed but I'm not positive

I've had several AC and this is my first DCSB truck. I like this a lot more so far. The SB is enough for all my camping and hunting gear. Bed is used for dead bloody animals too. If I hauled a bike, I guess I'd leave the tail down. All my toys go on a trailer though. I sometimes haul a couple guys hunting and have my son in back, so DC makes sense for me. I won't go back though unless it's a dedicated trail rig.

I had a 2016 AC and just traded for a 2019 DCSB. I actually believe the DCSB looks more symmetrical. I have always had AC’s but went for the 4 door this time because, l no longer have need for a long bed and my grand kids are too big for the AC rear seats.

No regrets! I traded in my 2011 DCSB for one. I just don't need room for other people and I like the look. That one foot makes a difference to me if I get a camper shell and I want to sleep back there.

I would have a regular cab if it was offered. If it was offered with the V6 I'd whip out my wallet so fast I'd probably put my back out.

You got kids, you NEED a DC. Mine are grown, but I have grandkids......little ones. I figured I'd use the bigger bed 95% of the time and the second seat maybe 5%. The grands can sit back there for short trips, like to the beach. But no way would I want to put anyone back there for a couple of hours.

So you gotta decide, @SkinnyP2 , what your priorities are.

BTW, I came from a Tundra DC to a Tacoma AC strictly for size reasons. Moved and got a very short driveway now. Still debating if it was the right move.

You know an access cab is like a slow 4wd sports car. They only have 2 seats with a place for the club's behind em. If they charge 125k for an access cab all the country clubs will be packed
