My preference, personally, is to press the gas pedal to accelerate when going up the hill.

I usually hang a foot out the door to push a bit. It requires some flexibility but it is doable.

crap, I've seen this video/gif so many times. This is the FIRST time I've noticed the white miata in the corner that was maybe about 10 feet in front of the jumping taco, with the top down. Could you imagine sitting in a little 1500lb car, top down, and potentially have a truck jump over you?

You can not drive up a hill.

OP, these guys are dicks. I am trying to find the best combo as well. I live up a relatively slow canyon, at high altitude. Driving up without ECT in normal drive mode makes the truck lug and shift like crazy. ECT is slightly better. I have settled on Sport mode in 3rd gear, shifting to 4th and back manually when I need it. Not ideal, but it works best for me.

    Classic third gen thread.

OP, if you get your answer be sure to follow up with another thread how to get back down. Would hate for you to be stuck up there without the internet to bail you out.

I mean.. He has a valid question. He just worded it in a way that made it low hanging fruit to troll. "Have any of you found a mode or gear that our 3rd gens seem to like when going up a long incline" would probably have invited less shitposting lol.
