Just get the extended versions of you're gonna get UCAs and OME leafs. About lasting a long time.. my resis looked like shit (cracking coating) within a month by just being on my truck so I'm already regretting the hype.

 

Yep. Full front with winch/synthetic line

 

Others might be right, UCA a bit bulky

 

Does anyone have info on truck height difference between 600# and 650# king coils? Thanks in advance.

Update:
After putting 650 lbs springs on, FabFours Premium front bumper, and lowering preload to 5 threads passenger and 7 driver, we ended up with an inch less lift in the front. It sits and rides about how the customer wants it now, but it did rub the plastic and the body mount pretty good. We did a body mount chop on both sides and all good now. I'll have to say, our guy did a nice clean job on it. Looks smoother than it did factory.

 

That looks really clean!!! Yeah mine slightly rubs now. Mostly on the plastic so I’ll have to heat it up and remold. Still shopping for the CMC

Hi all, my kings and rxt leaf will be installed this coming week. I plan to get it alighted at a local firestone who still use a lot of manual equipment. I want to provide them some numbers to shoot for. Can someone tell me what the ideal alignment numbers/spec should be?

 

I would think it depends on your ucas. Bushing and heim ucas are two different things when it comes to alignment. More positive caster is better when offroading

 

Here’s a dumb question...

Is it possible to run the king 2.5 ext. travel with the stock leaf springs and no lift?

No leaf springs and no preload would give no lift, correct?

I would like a smooth ride over washboard gravel roads but don’t want to lift my truck at all to keep the mileage as I do a lot of highway miles too.

Can't see why it would be any issue as I believe the extended travel only increases down travel (and then only slightly). Not sure Kings are best for your "washboard"/highway combo, may be better off looking at Fox for your application.

 

Yeah you should be fine with no lift at all. I ran both extended in the front and rear for over a year with just the front lifted under an inch to keep it leveled. If you want, you can add some bumpstop replacements for extra insurance from bottoming out since some of us have noticed that the rears sit lower and the shaft exposed shows about 3”. But I was fine with stock bumps. I’ve changed my setup since then though.

Not sure I agree with this advice here. Fox and King both have progressive valving so theoretically should run very similar if the setup are similar (ie 2.5s, remote reservoirs, etc). But if your talking Fox 2.0s then I would say it doesn’t really compete with the 2.5s. Cooling plays a factor here. Also, adjusters help out a bit so if he wanted to drive a little faster on these washboard roads, then go all the way firm on the settings and lower PSI on tires and enjoy. Progressive valving is more favorable for washboard roads so he’s on the right track with Kings. Oh and for on highway driving, go all the way soft and it should run fine. Everyone has to remember that when getting into offroad aftermarket suspension, it won’t drive like it was stock. Stock is designed to be as comfortable as possible on the road so if you want the best ride on an even flat road then leave everything stock. But when you want to use it for off-roading or to take bumps/dips better, then that’s when you balance both worlds and upgrade your suspension.

 

Does anyone have the Kings 2.5 650s with no added weight up front? If so how does your tacoma ride?

I was originally going to go with 600's since my tacoma has no added weight up front. It only has side steps and a 115lb rear bumper. Ive been thinking about getting the 650s due to less pre-load.

Any advice would help!

 

I have kings with 650 springs. No weight up front but it rides just fine. You should definitely go 650 if you plan on adding stuff.
