    My truck picked up 3 mph on my Dyno Hill at WOT, doesn't shift to 3rd (like it did before) but holds 4th when pulling the same hill at the speed limit (60mph), I got to get rid of the prone-to-failure SAI system and my fuel economy improved significantly. I've got sliders, skids, a bumper, 2.5 inch lift and rolling E-rated 275 70 R17's on the DCLB and the truck feels livelier than our very stock 2006 DCSB and is getting better fuel economy.

    With all due respect to the dyno results, I'm more than satisfied with JustDSM's HP Tuners results and haven't even started on the mechanical engine mods yet.

    Yeah, throttle mapping is part of it but my truck pulls harder at wot. That's where my truck kinda sucked pre-tune.

    Pull 3, is with it in normal operation. One pull strictly torque, and drops off in the higher RPM's. The other is for HP, and you can see the difference.

    High vacuum causes it to stay in a "torque range", then with parameter changes the ACIS valve changes and it becomes HP range.

    Congruently, that flap is a major reason why throttle body spacers don't work.

    Had too many brewskis last night. The ACIS valve switches states for runner length at roughly 4100 RPMs, to increase the HP. That graph is the long serrated dashes.

    This was of my 2006 truck. With the stroker engine and cams, running with the OEM ECU in charge. VVT-I locked out.

    There’s actually two RPM switching points and a Hi/Low TPS switching point.

    2200 and 4100RPM
    60° Throttle Angle

    Below 2200RPM is considered Low
    2200-4100RPM is considered Mid
    Above 4100RPM is High

    Stock configuration on all the cals I’ve seen only actuate at Mid/High TPS.

    The AFE scoop is a bit more attractive due to the price point, but I’ve heard that it had a 4” outlet vs the 3.5” on the Volant.

    From the dyno charts it does look like we stay in a "long intake runner" mode until ~4100 rpms

    Ideally yes, at around 4100-4200 rpms (the "high rpm zone") you switch over to "position A" - assuming thats short intake runner mode, due to lack of hp n torque in the lower rpms.




    What doesnt make sense to me is if we say 0 is "long intake runner mode" and 1 is "short intake runner mode", looking at the stock config it doesnt make any sense if we compare to the dyno charts. Its only in "short intake runner" mode in Medium RPMS 2200-4100 range when by the looks of the dyno, it should be in the same state that it is at lower rpms in the medium zone then switch to short intake at the Hi RPM zone.

    Im almost tempted to put a camera n light under the truck to make a recording of how it acts stock, its possible that HPTuner ACIS control is a lil messed up / miss-labeled, would make more sense if that 1 was in the Hi RPM - Hi Tps zone as thats what we see occur on the dyno charts.
