thanks everyone, I originally ordered the gray but figured blue stands out more haha. I'll give it a spin tomorrow and do some moderate braking to bed them. Can't wait to be healed up and hit up some trails around here, need to get my cardio up.

This works best on a steeper hill you can loop. Pedal fast, 5 repeated HARD stops to a complete stop, repeat 3 times. You'll instantly feel the difference.
Pads/rotors that are bedded correctly will deliver amazing stopping power and longer pad life.

Goddamn this snow and rain needs to let off. Every day this week... This weekend should be prime though.

    But that's 453 grams, Bruh!

It is funny how people stress over bike weights in grams then post ride can house a dozen street tacos.

I don’t stress over weight. Hell I’m coming from a bike with heavy 29x3 tires, and a previous rig was a Rocky Mountain Slayer. Not exactly a svelte ascender.

Just adding those stats to add to the analysis of my decision. But I do appreciate the input.

I always get hit with the urge right about the time I get all my pads on, and my homies are ready to start rolling. Just gotta deal with it.

Set a PR on PBR at 18 Road last time due to nature calling...with a loud speaker

they are all nice bikes, looking at the adds again I wouldn't consider the kona because it looks like he put lipstick on a pig with all the "upgraded" components. the only thing it has going for it is the brakes and drivetrain IMO. Rock shox I've had problems with mostly because they will stop making service kits long before the shock/fork are outdated.(main issue I had with my last bike) Fox, on the other hand, doesn't discontinue service parts for there products for a long, long time.

The Norco has the best components package, and being carbon is a huge plus. better suspension, drivetrain, brakes than the ibis.

As stated before, I love the frame geometry/design on the ibis but it components aren't as good. but still carbon and fox suspension.

I may have mentioned before, but I think the I9 wheels on the Kona are the only thing keeping it on the list.

The Norco and Ibis are really the front runners, both being carbon. The suspension is solid on both, while the brakes need replacing on both. The Norco gets the nod on drivetrain, but the ibis has the advantage in the travel department.

The geo on those two are close, with the Ripley being a little more slack.

Sadly I’m as indecisive as they come, and often just need someone to tell me what’s best. At least when I can’t try something hands on myself.

Yup. Believe me, if I could demo anything and everything, I would.

Sadly the only local shop I have is a trek shop. Which don’t get me wrong, I like treks a lot, just looking to roll something different this go around. To demo other stuff would require a far amount of traveling.

All the used bikes I’ve asked about are still going to require an 8hr round trip drive to pickup.

i dont really think the ibis has better travel, maybe same but i can't really tell with the black on black stickers on the ibis. norco has a performance elite fork and thats as good as they come in a 34. not kashima, but internals are the same as the factory.

I’m going off the manufacturer specs for each. Norco is 120/110 (fr/rr), Ripley is 130/120 (fr/rr). The pig with lipstick is the longest legged one of the batch at 140/130 (fr/rr).
