Glad you guys are ok. I have to ask, what was the extent of your damage at $4200? That seems mighty steep for just the bumper, unless it required all new sensors and a few gold bricks.

Btw, I like the dash cam idea! Way to think ahead.

Most part we are on a island, so shipping is crazy money, but the bottom of the fender had a small dent area, so fix that paint and blend ads up here in Hawaii. The new bumper covered it up so i didn't care I asked them to blend the paint from tailgate back into the bed, because i didn't want it to mis match

I've been in Kodiak for 3 years Haha. I transfer to Elizabeth City, NC this summer. Parts are expensive. Most of my stuff is barged from Seattle.

I'm looking at close to that for my Bed Rack from SOS concepts. It was 300 to ship to Seattle and now a couple hundred more to Barge. I'm traveling across the country so I want the rack and RTT so =/...

Damn. That's badass. After being on a island for 3 years, I feel more more road trips in my future as well.

When you planning to go to Dead Horse? Fiance and I are actually doing that beginning of June lol

And yeah ive had a dashcam for a few years. not as fancy and nice as yours though! But still 1080p. Think the craziest I caught on camera was going ~35mph and a old ford ranger with like 4 or 5 guys in the bed came flying out of a blind driveway and drifting it at a good 30mpg themselves. I missed t-boning them by inches. Ill always remember as I was slamming my brakes on and locked up (i ended up sideways in both lanes) looking at one of the guys in the bed and making eye contact....his eyes basically saying Im dead if you hit us. It was the only time I had to actually pull off the road and get out. I was super thankful as an older couple saw the whole thing and stopped and checked on me. Calmed down a ton. Saw the gentlemen a few days later (he is in my neighborhood) and stopped to talk to him and he pretty much said he had no doubt had i not avoided hitting them, there would have been 4 dead or seriously hurt people

This is really a testament to the unfortunate truth that idiots like this person think tailgating on a one-lane road is going to get them to their destination any faster. It won't, whether an accident occurs or not.

Glad there's no major injuries. All the shame in the world should be aimed at drivers like that.

Are rear dash cams really all that necessary? 9/10 times a person rear ends someone it's that person's fault, unless the car they hit didn't have functioning brake lights maybe.

Genuinely curious, I just installed a dash cam up front and thought about getting a rear one as well, but figured it wouldn't be as necessary
