Order placed on ebay for the adjustable one. I have two optima group 34's, so this should help keep them topped off. I usually keep them on a float charger when in the garage, but have noticed that even when driving that the batteries are never fully "topped off" because of the lower voltages.

Anyone had a chance to check techstream to see if 2017+ alternator output can be changed?

I looked and all I could find were the test options.
I could "test" higher voltages however they would return to default upon exiting the test.

I spent about half an hour trying to figure it out in Techstream without any luck. I’m hoping someone smarter than me will crack the code on this one.

Tried looking today, couldn't find anything. Only thing I could find, like the other member, was to test a specific alternator output voltage, but once you exit it defaults back to other setting.
Under the function tab along the top of the screen, there's a vehicle configuration option, but asks for your vehicle configuration code.....I don't know where to find that, so couldn't explore further.
There's gotta be a way to change the setting somewhere!

If you can identify the wire coming from the alternator to feed the ECU the voltage, it should be possible to install a fuse inline, then add the booster like earlier trucks. Certainly not as cool as a Techstream solution though.

I'll keep looking but Techstream appears to be a no-go. I did order the MK4 adjustable booster y'all are using the 2nd gen, and will see how it plays when placed inline with the signal wire. I havent looked at anything yet to determine where I can neatly place the adjuster. I probably won't be able to get to it for a few weeks, but it may take a while to come in anyhow, since its coming from Australia. I'll keep y'all posted with the results.

I think for trying to install inline the .5v adjuster would be easier to tuck away somewhere that isn’t in a fuse box. If you could take plenty of photos when you do this mod, I’ll add your contribution to the original post for 3rd gens to easily reference later.

@OVTune any chance you could please check if you are able to change the alternator output from the ECU? I know a lot of guys would be grateful!

Having observed voltages for several days, they seem to range from ~14.7V (on cold start) to ~13.6V (when warmed-up).

Also installed one on my son's 1st Gen - similarly easy, though the appropriate fuse is in a slightly different location.

Would this wire be considered the "sensing" wire? I would think the "sensing" wire would be between the ECM and battery. I see this wire as ECM input into the Alt, must be another wire between ECU and battery. If not, interesting 3rd Gen don't utilize a fuse on the sensing wire.
