It was a bit disappointing for me. It did fine around town and local freeway driving. I still love my truck!

Mpg not the problem, so much. The Truck could not hold a gear to save it's life. It was embarrassing! Lose speed, dead pedal, have to practically stomp on, then jerks gets loud when downshifts, then upshifts, can't hold gear, repeat!!

You're under-geared...that's the problem. The truck changing gears is just a symptom.

Which is why I’m clueless why 2” more tire that’s gives you maybe .75” more clearance after tire compression... seems desirable. No offense...

Nor mine. Although I've also been comfortable waiting, so...doesn't really bother me either way.

I can’t tell the difference between those and 32’s

But your truck looks good nonetheless

So what did yesterday's update cover? Is it the stumble at low speeds that was previously mentioned?

I can't either but I didn't want to say it just to play it safe.
It's an extra 1"-1.5" of ground clearance though

Not exactly, Look at it this way.

If you add 2” of tire that’s 1” on each side of the tire, so there is 1” of tire that goes up into the wheel well and one that goes to the ground to actually lift the truck...which means you are getting .75” of extra clearance under the rear differential after the tires compress that 1/4” or so from the weight of the vehicle. I did measurements when I added bigger tires and it was barely anything, so I went back to 32’s because the super bad gas mileage and crappy shifting wasn’t worth .75”

It's not just about clearance. The additional diameter has different qualities than the minimal lift.

Here's an interesting video comparing several common tire sizes in a real world application.

Edit: sorry for the off topic comments Mat

I suppose if you’re rock crawling all the time it makes sense. Most people aren’t though.

The tune makes my truck more trail capable (keeping it tune related lol)

Was pretty cool to watch that stock 4runner

Oh, sorry. Admittedly I haven't read most of the comments. Your comment just reminded me of that video.

Yes, most people upgrade to +33's for looks. Probably not "needed" 90% of the time.
