Hello out there taco fans, just got back into a 04 Tacoma, had a 1980 PU back in the day. Has anyone has dealt with this issue of removing the centre brake light fixture? Seems the 3 sockets are unlocked and fell inside the roof liner, took out the screws on the lens but it seems to be well attached still, suggestions.

The fixture is screwed onto the back of the cab.

I used some black tape with curved corners (by 3M, I believe) on my 1987 SR5. It lasted 10 years, then I sold the truck.

Hi, so the lens screws don’t hold the fixture just the lens ? My lights actually work it’s just they are unlocked from the back of the housing and are dangling around inside. Might try hot glue on a stick to pull them back into their holes and hopefully I can twist them into place .

You have to remove the back of the headliner to expose the hardware to remove the light.

When I removed my high brake light, it was on a 1987 model. Prolly changed between then and 2004. :notsure:
