I'm curious to know about the labor too. Three quotes I've gotten in northern alabama to just swap the fully built 3rd member and clamshell have been $725, $750, and $800.

There is a chart on post #2 that compares the final drive ratios between the MT and AT with the different ratios. Comparing those ratios will give you a good idea.

Night and Day. I don't think it is talked about much simply because it's expected haha. Since the bulk use of our trucks is daily driving or primarily street driving the impacts on daily usage is the common question/concern.

Can't wait to get these installed next week. Glad that ECGS sells REM polished rears now.

This one is a bit beyond me. Maybe I'd try if I didn't have a 4 month old, but I have to have the truck back up in a day or two so I'm having an ECGS- recommended installer do it next week.

TRD Pro Grill, TRD Pro skid plate, tuff skins stickers, rekgen mudflaps, 33'' tires, 17'' wheels. Nitro 5.29 Gears. Bilstein 8112 front/8100 rears. Icon delta joint UCA’s and RXT leaf pack. Baja designs Fog, squadron ditch lights, and 30” S8 light bar.
Got my 5.29’s installed. 33” tires and it’s driving amazing. Averaging 20mpg. Freeway speeds I can go up to 80 indicated at 2600rpm and gps says 84mph. Haven’t gone much faster for extended time. No need too but in town it does 60-65 at 1900-2000 rpm and gets even better MPG

    Nice. Great choice!!!

The 5.29s seem intimidating for many but once you have them you never want to go back!

I agree, I was surprised as well. I used to get about 16.5

I almost can’t believe your getting that MPG with 5.29s on 33s!? I was going to hold off until I got my 35s but I guess it would be worth just doing my gears now.

After a 1000+ miles on my 5.29 I have not noticed a big boost in MPG but then again i've been driving the truck harder than I did stock since I dont feel any acceleration lag.

There is this hill where I would struggle to hit 45mph on my commute to work without dropping down to 4th gear and now it pushes 55+ in 5th gear using the same mpg.

It would be the same where I did not like going 65+mph on highways with all my weight on the bed and now it happily does 75+ with about the same pressure applied to the gas pedal.

The biggest thing I noticed from the switch to 5.29 is that I hit 6th gear more frequently which was non existent in my stock gearing.
