It's worth it to get a quote from a media blasting facility... getting that bad boy down to white metal would make any coating stick--- plus that little hoop can be lopped off.... you weld?

Anyone wire their existing fog wiring to the new led lights you’re using? Is that safe from a wire gage, watts, etc perspective? Im not an electrician by any means. Would love to just connect the + and - and reuse my fog switch and wiring for the new 18W led pods I bought. Thoughts?

Don't even really need a relay on that low of wattage. Just an in-line fuse.

I added factory fogs to my truck before getting this bumper, the later 2nd Gen SR models (most) didn't come with them if the buyer didn't add them to the option sheet, and I wasn't pre-wired for them either. I was the second owner for this truck I used a generic harness that had a relay and in-line fuse, added the h11 bulb plugs, and got it done. With adding the round fogs to the plate bumper, I cut off the h11 adapters, added some 2-pin adapters from the Zon on the harness and the lights. Done. Drink beer and blind people.

I mean just because their made in China doesn’t mean their PC’d in China. Vehicle parts are made overseas and painted in factories here too.........
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3OMAnAS8cBI
The dude who owns KO/DV8 orders the bumper from out of the country but had his warehouse in CA.......you guys are telling me it is 100% impossible that they PC the parts when they come in?
I’m not saying that it’s highly likely, I’m saying I’m going to get ahold of him and see if it’s possible. But sure yeah you guys are right, your valueable input is so much appreciated. (Absolutely 0 sarcasm)

The powder coat is quite poopy for the most part, but it hasn't scrubbed off from rocks or trees yet. Just the hard edges in some spots.

However, dollar store rattle cans stick better...

Just wondering - how did you come up with the conclusion its crappy? Prior to wiping out my ride, I did a few MEK and Acetone test all over the bumper - 25 double rubs which is actually overkill and the powder did not come off. I didn't see any de-lamination either... but I was never a fan of the wrinkle look....

That tells me it has been sufficiently cooked and cured.

Now if the threads, if any are coated or there's light spots - then I'd say its applicator error. But realistically, who ever powder coated these units utilized a Line Powder Coating system ( conveyer ) vs. a batch system. It's one of those processes - once perfected ( settings wise ) it's hard to mess up.

Also too, there are various grades of Media Blasting - commonly, commercial blasting or SSPC-SP6; is the acceptable standard which states that it IS permissible to allow 33 and a third of the surfaces area to NOT be hit with media.

Any time you're able to media blast a surface prior to coating - you'll have the maximum profile for ANY coating to bond on - including rattle can spray paint.

You're taking this way too seriously. If I paid full All-Pro pricing, I'd give a damn, but I didn't. :)

I like my bumper, but the PC leaves a lot to be desired in terms of any coatings for steel. It was flaking off the smaller edges when new, only worse as time has gone on.
When it gets to the point it gets rusty, I'll take it to the blaster and have a proper PC job done, or just rattle it because it's armor and it will get scratched.
