I noticed some people (example:neontrail sorry to call you out) did a seatbelt ding mod. The Taco I bought Friday does not ding except when you start the truck and that's it, is this a mod or normal? The other things when I lock the doors with the remote it doesn't beep and also with the passenger side airbag the manual says there should be a "keyhole" to turn it off however I know it has the sensor so if you put a child seat for example will it turn off?

    Thanks guys!

in my truck when i don't have my seatbelt on it doesn't ding, just flashes the light so i'm not sure about that. the keyless entry that i'm guessing came with your truck is not an actual alarm system so it won't beep. when you hear cars beep when locked that generally means that the alarm is set but on the stock keyless entry it doesn't come with an alarm so you will just see your lights flash. and with the airbag system in the DC, since you have a real back seat, it has a weight sensor so it automatically goes on or off depending on if you have stuff in the passenger seat or not, no need for a keyhole to manually turn it on or off

From my understanding it does have an alarm system, hell it even has the stickers on both windows LOL!

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the seatbelt ding mod is for the 08 and 09's that will constantly ding if u drive off w/o the seatbelt engaged. u wont have a lock/unlock beep on the 05...thats on the 09's unless u mod it....and u wont have the passenger side airbag cutoff in the DC b/c there is a sensor in the seat that determines if there is enough weight for the airbag to be turned on at all. if u look right below the radio, u should see "AIRBAG" and then on or off...will let u know what state its in

you can usually change the beep when locking or unlocking. check the manual for settings on how to change it.

It has an engine immobilizer from the factory and that may be what the stickers are for.

My '05 with keyless entry didn't beep, it didn't have the beeper mechanism. My '06 with keyless entry doesn't beep either, and still doesn't beep even after I installed the OEM VIP RS3200+ security system, again lacks the beeper mechanism.
