And this is as far as I’ve gotten tonight. Step 21 of 96. Boy that EGR pipe bracket bolt is a bitch to get to.

 

No, this just wraps around the bedside. No cutting required. I did paint those panels with bed liner, after making a bit of repair work. A lady backed into the truck, and ruined the chrome bumper, and dinged the corner of the bed. Her insurance is paying for this bumper, plus a DIY CBI plate bumper for the front and an inexpensive winch. In the side picture, you can see a piece of 1 inch Styrofoam that I used as a spacer. I chose this bumper because the wraparound lines up with the lines in the panel. Most don't.

 

I made another run to Menard's Friday to buy more primed MDF for my house remodeling.

 

i cannot stand the midwest humidity, i guess the best place to go is to CO,WY,MT if you don't mind snow and cold

 

Looks like I missed the East Coast/West Coast battle yesterday.

The south isn’t as bad as you’re led to believe. Hell, half the Northeast has relocated down here. They seem to dig it.

I can drive 2 hours west and be in the Appalachian mountains or 3 hours east and be on the coast.

 

Haha, the EGR pipe is the same on the v6 and a pain to get to on the supercharger.
Probably replace that ERG gasket before you tighten everything up if you can
and make sure you use a gates belt. The gates belt will out last the TRD belt twice
as long and has better grip over time

And to those that don't still have her, happy mothers day to you too. This day is for all mothers, passed on or still here. We all should be grateful that we had a mom in our life. There's always someone who's had it harder in life.

 

I try to go every week if I can. Not many gun laws in the south and hope it stays that way.

 

I went through hell with the EGR system. It was originally defeated on the supercharger by the previous owner since both EGR stud holes were stripped. Had to bring it to a machine shop and have it TIG welded and retapped.

After that, finding the gaskets were fun. RockAuto doesn’t tell you which one is for the tube and which one is for the base. I ended up buying the last EGR gasket in San Francisco when I dropped by the local Toyota dealer.

I’m pretty sure I have the Gates belt, I’ll have to check. I have Teflon gaskets too.

 

Ok, the v6 EGR gasket is the same on both ends BTW.

 

For the 2RZ/3RZ, there’s three total gaskets for the EGR system. The valve itself uses two of those fiber gaskets, while the other end of the tube uses a metal gasket.

 

Yea, had the same issue over time, my EGR threads failed and had them retapped.
I ended up using some gasket maker also with the gasket between the supercharger and the EGR valve for a better seal.

That was 100,000 plus miles ago and no issues

 

Just a question here. What type of injectors (e.g. purchase source) did you use when the new engine was swapped in?

Gonna be adjusting the front a bit, need to lower it because I don't have time to replace the UCAs.

 

Napa belts are made by Gates if you need to source one locally.
