    Long winded introduction incoming!:mudding:

Been browsing the forums for a little over a year now. I made the decision to buy a Tacoma about 2 years ago, wanting to be able to take my dual sport to the OHV park more often. Despite spending the last 10 years driving sports cars, I've always considered myself a truck guy. Learned on my cousin's 1961 F100 when I was 13, and then got a '71 Chevy when I was 16. It crapped out and I didn't have the time or money to work on it so bought my dad's '96 Chevy and hated it (Automatic).

ANYWHO! I'd been looking for a used manual 3rd Gen Tacoma for a while, but every time I found one it was either sold before I could get out the door to get to the dealer, or the dealer wanted new truck price for a used truck. After a year of that I finally got fed up and just ordered exactly what I wanted back in January. Well, it finally arrived! Picked up my 2019 Cement Grey TRD OR 4x4 MT 3 days ago, and already modded the beast. My old car had a Bose stereo with a factory sub ('09 370Z) and I knew I'd hate the sound in the Tacoma. Budgeted for that and just today had some new door speakers installed and a 10" inch sub/amp installed behind the back seat. Gotta say it's better than my car's stereo was! I'm excited. Already put 200 miles on the beast.

Learned a lot from people on the forums just browsing and searching, and about to go through the DIY checklist on the 3rd Gen forums and make this baby as perfect as she can be.

lol I've been driving it too much to take pictures! I've got to go pick up my girlfriend later today, I'll snap a few and post them tonight. For now I'll post the only picture I got the day I got home with it. It's missing the running boards, but the dealership ordered them and will install them when they get there. They're just the typical cheap ones you can get with it. I might replace them eventually.NewTruck.jpg

I'm still tossing around the idea of getting a Pro hood and grille. Right now, really, it's just the practical stuff like the A/C Drain mod. I broke the bank having Car Toys put in some speakers/sub/amp yesterday and I've got two vacations coming up in June and July so nothing major for a few months at least. Eventually when the tires wear down I want to get some aggressive all terrains. Bars in the bed, maybe. Possibly a mild lift? The lift may not happen. I do most of my off road stuff on the dual sport. Honestly I've customized this truck more in 3 days than I ever did any of my previous vehicles over the last 15 years. A picture of mine and my dad's DRZ400s on our first vacation to Colorado. I carry the emergency gas, he carries the emergency potable water.goodcolorado.jpg
