Got alot I want to do but we'll see, that's what the forum is for...
I have appointment to drop off for a trans issue that recently accured. I spoke to my service guy on the phone and explained my issue with the suspension & tailgate issue, but he gave me no feedback stating " I was carring too much weight " then saying " tail gates are not ment to hold alot of weight ". He doesn't have much of a personality but my question to my fellow owners is Do I print out and bring the TSB's that are out for my suspension & tailgate issue? If they give me an issue... Thanks for your opinion.

Why not, don't be an ass about it though. I would have it so if they say the have never heard of it you can show them.

Print it out and take it with you. Speak to the Service guy. Explain the problem and if he gives you any shit about it just show him the TSB and act innocent and explain that you did a little searching on the internet and happened to find the TSB and it seemed to fit your symptoms exactly. If he still denies it then call Toyota. I'll bet he does it.

I have to work from 7am-6pm during the week so I only talk to him over the phone. I will be dropping off but I will keep copies with me & use them as a last result if it comes to that.

I just hope my front leveling spacers are not an issue?

I work for BMW dealer and we bend over for all of our customers and warranty crap that most wouldn't just because.

whenever I get TSB work done I always bring a copy of the TSB print out...and I always get asked where did you get that from its not supposed to be disclosed to the public...and I always tell them if its not meant for the public then why do a TSB to begin with...

I usually tell my friend that works for Toyota as an ASE Tech. what to do and he always takes care of it for me with/without the TSB print out...:D

I couldn't get my rear spring TSB done until I contacted one of the service techs who I occasionally wheel with. He got my information and passed it on to the service manager in charge of his "team" and it was a done deal. If you know one of the service techs in your area, talk to him/her and see what they can do for you. They know a little more than the service managers.

As some have already said take them with you but don't break em out unless they give you crap & even then don't be a jerk about it. Think about if someone is kind & polite wouldn't you be more likely to help then if someone is a total dick from the get go.

They shouldn't give you any problems, I took mine in for a new battery  yes a new battery on a 1 year old truck , but here in Arizona batteries don,t last long maybe 2 years if your lucky. But anyways while I was there I just told the service manager that I needed him to order me the updated rear leaf springs for my truck, His reply was sure not a problem. A week later when the parts arrived they were installed.

I would use the printout as a last resort. My dealership goes into instant defense mode when you bring out their own company's documentation. I never could get them to do the suspension TSB (doesn't apply to your model, regardless of what is printed right on the top). Now that I'm using the truck as a truck every weekend of my house remodel, I'm riding on the stops with 600lbs in the back.

I just recently bought a 2008 tacoma (from a dealer) and this is the roughest riding truck I have ever owned and it's my third tacoma. Is there any way to tell if my truck has had the suspension update done. It only has 11,000 miles on it but I'm afraid if I go to the dealer and explain my problem they will tell me it has already been done.
