my mother is turning 80yrs old this year and still in good health (although her memory and that is not quite what it used to be)

I was in St Louis for three years. Never understood the so called "mid west winter". I thought the winters there were short and balmy compared to out here.

 

midwest winters are basically a cycle of extreme cold and then warming cycle and back to bitter cold,etc
wreaks havoc on the pavement!!! ... not sure how it is out west that has stable cold temps?

 

Eh does that too here. Can be -30 one week and 40 the next. Do think it's colder longer though in general.

Not a single store sells -40 Degree washer fluid with Methanol in the entire State of California.

Makes sense, but damn I’m having trouble finding some. Might have to mix my own.

You’d think that would be the obvious choice, but there nothing on Amazon. There’s the premixed stuff that’s two weeks out but it doesn’t have very good reviews.

I want the washer fluid because I can reuse my stock reservoir.

CA doesn't sell methanol washer fluid anymore. I saw an article on it recently somewhere

 

20 below will work with no additives blue in color , boost juice too , I actually mix half boost juice and -20 wiper fluid

 

Why do you mix them, why not use just one or the other?

And you reused your stock tank right?

Because boost juice is three times as expensive as windshield wiper fluid you can get for $2 a gallon or dollar fifty if you look real hard

Yep, as far as I know you can still do that. I had a hard time even getting supercharger oil because for some stupid reason it can't even be shipped to CA, luckily GM carries it

I had a hell of a time this winter driving up the sierras on the 395 (and up in Tahoe) with my windshield washer fluid freezing. It didn't work for close to a week before it finally thawed out. I do remember they sold stuff that didn't freeze up in Tahoe but it must've been a different chemical.
Mine was already a block of ice so I couldn't do anything about it lol
