Flipping someone off especially in Hawaii will get you followed.
People in Hawaii are pretty tolerant to many driving habits but not that.
Tourists are probably the worst drivers no matter from mainland or other country. Can't read signs, stopping on freeway because missed off ramp, stopping and letting driver in and not getting a thank you wave, driving below speed limit. ...
A friend has one. A lady changed lane into him .
They pulled over and she said sorry.
Cops came and she tells the cops he drove into her .
Friend tells the cop " I have a dash cam and it caught everything " .
The look on the stupid lady he said was frickin priceless.

I have one hooked up to run 24/7. The current draw is so minimal it's like having alarm on . I dont trust ANYBODY to do the decent thing.

I once sat in the truck waiting for the wife shopping and a girl backed into a car cracking the lens.
She didn't see me but I guess in case SOMEONE saw it, she got out and left a note.
When the car owner got to his car, he looked at the the note left on his windshield.
I walked over and said a girl backed into your car and left a note. The note....was a sad face. The stupid c*nt left a sad face note. Unfuckin real. Luckily, I wrote down the license plate.
    Some people just fuckin suck.

So basically she was just leaving the note to appear as if she was doing the right thing? Thats pretty sketchy.

Out of curiosity how does it hold up on super hot days? I live in AZ and am trying to find a camera that will stick and not break while being in 100+ weather. I'm not sure how hot it gets in Hawaii but if you had any feedback it would be appreciated.

Op Post the footage of the front cam.

I’ve seen a lot of heavy traffic rear Enders in person. However how you managed to pull 5-6 vehicle lengths forward after getting hit instantaneously (1sec) from having been hit in rear makes me wonder.

Read all your posts on this thread, don’t see the info I’m looking for.

Also continuous on coming traffic is ruling out some scenarios in my mind. As well the solid barrier on your shoulder.

    Post it.... for science lol

OP, truck wasn’t totaled after this? I just got rear ended yesterday at a complete stop. Guy was going maybe 25-30 but I had a BruteForce bumper on the rear. The bumper definitely saved the truck. Got my fingers crossed that the frame didn’t take a hit and buckle.

There is a " working temperature " in the manual or product website . Average is about 160deg . Suction cup is useless AND it'll etch into your windshield .
There's various ways to mount them depending on the dash cam.

Anecdotal evidence here but a friend's brother brake checked an off duty officer who ended up rear ending him and the officer was found 100% at fault so that might vary by state.

If I brake check I only hit the brakes enough to light them up and never stab them or even slow down.

Since my '15 was totaled last month by someone running a red light, and my dog escaping a 1/4 way open rear window after the impact, and missing for 18 hours while injured, we have also switched over to a harness with the seat belt tether in both our vehicles. Dash cam saved my ass as well. He told the cops and his insurance company that I ran the light and hit him. After providing my footage to the police, and insurance company, the other driver was written for 4 Citations for careless driving, running the red light, illegal window tint AND providing false information to police ( He told the cops he was the only occupant, when his passenger fled the scene after the impact) We have court on Tuesday morning as he plead " not guilty" to all the citations. His insurance company was fighting us on fault until they were given a copy of the footage, within 10 minutes after seeing it, they accepted liability. I now hope the Judge finds him guilty on all counts and doesn"t accept any plea deals and then his insurance company goes after him for insurance fraud..

Once the judge sees the footage, its a closed case. You'll be in court for 20 minutes tops.

I don't mind the time, I don't want this clown to be able to plead down to lesser points. i'm all for lowering a few points on a speeding if its your first infraction or even a stop sign violation being dropped down IF it didn't cause an accident.... The more he gets stuck with, the easier it will be for me to go after him civially for the out of pocket costs incurred that insurance didnt cover, like additional rental costs, vet bills etc.

Only down side is, in direct sunlight the blackvue cam does get hot, i try to park not in direct sun.. when it gets hot it does power down until it cools off and then it comes back on...

I didn't save the front footage, when i showed the cop, i showed both, they only wanted to see the rear, and the way the camera works it over writes day or so later since the front camera is 4k and back is 1080, i only copied the rear to my phone...

I didnt see any frame damage, but i did notice we went offroad last night, and now the sunroof roof area makes weird popping noises, it may be because the new rear bumber doesn't let the frame flex anyone?

And this cam is mounted through 20% tint too....

The sensor you mentioned in the video is the Blind Spot/Rear Cross Traffic Alert sensors. Does the new bumper not allow for this to be installed?

I figured that, we had to zip tie it up, it would have been nice to have a real spot to mount it to the truck, but zip tie have seems ok...

I worry about this with the Adaptive Cruise Control engaged. There has been a few times when it has been engaged and someone suddenly stops or turns and it slams the brakes. I feel bad for the people behind me. If someone had been following me as close as they were following you, there would have been a fender bender for sure.
