FWIW, I just removed Hankook Dynapro ATMs with 50-60k on them and they still have 50% tread left. Phenominal tire in mud, rain, and sand. I just put a new set on from discount tire, I’ll never run anything else again.

Wheels showed up today so I went ahead and had the 265/70/17 Grabber ATX put on it. $715 total with mount, balance and tax. Huge difference from the stock Kevlar Wranglers that came on it stock, much better ride.

No lift yet, have a Low range off-road 3/2 level kit on the way that I’ll install in the next couple of weeks. The new tires rub a bit on the OEM mud flaps but, I like them, so they stay. Hoping the level kit gets rid of the rubbing.

They worked well IMO however, we don't get much for ice here in Vancouver. I do a lot of mtn hwy driving and I can tell you that they out performed the KO in every single way.

I don't know, I've had the Wildpeaks and then switched to KO2's, I prefer the KO2's. The Wildpeaks were SL, rode quiet, and were probably the best AT I've had in the rain, did the job on dirt and rocks, but they failed me pretty bad in the Cascade Concrete we call snow up here. I went out on a snow run with a few other Tacoma's, all were running KO2s, I was the sole truck there with Wildpeaks and I struggled hard compared to them. They also seemed to wear pretty fast, and I did gash a sidewall on a curb pretty easily IMO, as well. I switched to KO2s in a C-Load, noticed no difference in ride, road noise or power drain, and they were vastly better in the snow. They are not as good in the rain as the Wildpeaks, but do well enough.

I’ve got Wildpeak 265/70/17 on mine. Only had them for a few hundred miles but they ride well on normal road driving, not much louder than the stock Toyo Open Country that came on it. Handled rain/wet conditions well so far but I will have to wait until winter to see how they do in snow.

Just got back from Discount Tire: placed an order for four 265/70-17 General Grabber ATX tires, and a set of “OE Wheels TRD Pro Style wheels in 17x7 +0mm, matte black.

Although I have been extremely happy with KO2s for many years, I wanted to try something else. So I decided to give the Generals a try given that TireRack now has them as the top-rated AT tire, and the positive comments on here from those who have them. Each General was only $12 more than the Wildpeak, so I figured it would be worth a shot.

The Pro Style wheels have the same 7-inch width as the stocks, but because they have a +0mm offset, have a deeper dish look and offer 1 inch of extra backspacing. They come with black center caps; I’ll probably get a set of round TRD stickers and slap them on. Overall, they should push the tires closer to the outer edge of the fenders. The entire set of 4 wheels saved me $100 from the lowest quote of OE TRD SEMA wheels set I received, so that’s an added bonus.

I looked into the FN fX Pro wheels, but they now only come in 9-inch wide, which is too wide for my liking for a set of 265 tires. I don’t plan to go any bigger than 265/70-17.

Thanks everyone for your input and comments. These are three excellent tires; can’t go wrong with any of them.

I should be having them wheels and tires installed by this time next week.

How do you like living with white letters? I like the look but I go on the trail.

If you were to do it again, Yay or Nay...?

Always do white letters out, least on trucks. My old jeep had white letters out also. Gives the vehicle a little more character imo.

I do like white letters out on a truck, too. But I also like to wheel. I don’t want to spend hours scrubbing those suckers afterwards.

It’s been awhile since I had to care for whitewalls or white letters. I’m sure there are now all kinds of wonderful chemicals that leave beautiful pearly white letters....and some other less desirable side effects too...

Hahaha. I dont wheel that hard and I dont care if the white gets torn off or messed up. It will happen. Truck is not a mall crawler so it's fine whatever happens to them.

I’m a huge fan of the Cooper Discoverer AT3 series. Was looking to get the LT version. However, my independent shop guy can’t get them for almost 3 weeks and I need new tires stat. I know I could get them somewhere online in a day or two but I prefer to shop small businesses whenever possible. Not to mention his prices were just as competitive. Cheaper on a couple of brands like Falken and General. I decided on a set of General Grabber AT2 265/70-16 and they get installed tomorrow. Tread pattern is aggressive and even looks similar to BFG KO2. The ATX isn’t available in this size yet.

Did you see any milage decrease? Or any rougher on the ride being E rated?

I drive up and down hills and mountains so I am really never looking at MPGs. I did have more flat driving when I picked up my 19 but that was after switching to a MT. Anyways, the feel the comfort is about the same as the stockers, quiet as stock. These are rated for much higher PSI then what I run. I put about 40ish PSI in them so it's a little softer.
