55,000 Mileage service

I just had the '' maintenance required '' light come on for my 2005 tacoma. I bought the truck with 52,000 miles on it. I'm figuring this means its time to change the oil. Yes? At least thats what the toyota manual says.
However the service advisor at the dealer told me its time for the 55,000 mile service checkup,which includes more than just an oil change. He said that basically besides the oil change they also inspect wear and tear on the tires, rotate them,inspect the brakes and check for anything leaking on or underneath the vehicle.
He told me it would be around $100 or so to have all this done. Does this sound reasonable or am I getting screwed by the dealer?

 

Well if you are not blind your getting screwed!....Its all very visual to me.

 

Yeah, thats pretty much what I'm going to tell them too. Its all visual, nothing has leaked since I have had it. In fact the tires still have the '' knobs '' on them, and the brakes grab just fine.

 

What does " retorque propeller shaft bolt? what is the torque spec for this bolt? where is it? and does anyone have a picture of it. Thanks guys I love this site.

Funny, I was just looking at my 15K service to do list, which I am doing myself. It calls for the re-torque of the propeller shaft bolt too. I looked through my online Service History Guide and didn't see it either. I will ask at the dealership tomorrow.

 

I believe it means the drive shaft bolts.

correct.....and all i do on mine is make sure they are tight. i highly doubt any tech at the dealership is gonna loosen any of the drive shaft bolts and retorque them and all.....i doubt they'd even look at them even though they would check it off in the book. dont ya just love how they do things at some dealerships.
