I'd like to toss my hat in the ring and suggest a Guinea Pig could be the most overland pet ever

Well hear me out. Overlanding and overlanders represent one thing.


Being somewhere they probably shouldn't be in the first place. With the gear, and #overlandcoins and flux capacitor refrigerator for the 4 day trip, you can ignore all those things and really just deduce that they shouldn't be there by one simple way; They call it overlanding instead of camping.

Now cut back to the Guinea Pig. No one knows where the GP came from. But we do know where it belongs. In a Bubble. I mean the thing is pathetic. It's basically nature's chicken nugget to every predator known to man. It has no self defense mechanism. There's a sliver of a window for conditions in which a gp could survive.

Which brings me to Dogs. Bring a Dog to Yellowstone. No big deal. The love fields. Maybe go make a few bison friends. Roll around in bear shit. All perfectly normal. But go back to the beginning. If you're supposed to be there, it's not Overland.

Now a GP.... Bring it to Imogen pass, piggiecicle. Moab? Hawk biscuit in 2 minutes. PNW? Bound to have the worst hair day ever. It shouldn't be any of those places. And much like the defenseless and un self-sufficient overlanders, they're way too far away from home.

And that's why I think the guinea pig is the most overland pet ever

But, it's not hiding the fact that it's weak AF. This fucking thing on the other hand... Calls itself a dog. Just as vulnerable to the elements as the GP. To untrained eyes the overlander is hard as fuck 4x4 machine guy. To untrained eyes this is a dog.

 

I bet you 10/10 times if you threw that into the air, something would eat it before it hit the ground

Ever realize there's a strong correlation between sugar gliders and the average TW user?

Yes. The average TW user is an engineer. The sugar glider's gliding mechanism is an engineering marvel. Much like how the average TW user could have made the 3rd gen transmission better.

 

That's giving too much credit. I was just going to say both spend 90% of their day in the dark and make way too much noise over nothing

 

My second guess was that both have an enlarged cecum to handle larger than normal complex carbohydrate loads.
