It probably has more to do with the laptop itself... It hasn’t been used in a long time.

Just make sure the cost to gain a few HP and torque numbers will be worth the wait.
Have a convertible G6 V6 shop on the forum there was selling modded ECMs like crazy. I didn't buy into it, but they ran a special at Christmas. I gained about 28 HP Not enough to make that much difference for the full cost they were asking. Gas unless your modding your not going to see a lot of gain with HP tuners. Modded,, O ya, I"ve use it with a toy I had on the street , You can also tame a cam down with HP tuners and injectors. Make it sound any way you want it to sound. Fun stuff but like mentioned, stock, your spending a whole lot of money for very little gain and you won't know what you have unless you run a before and after dyno. . Another thing to think about will burning 93 be worth the cost to you for the gain you get. We just come back from the mountains. 93 was 80 cent a gal more than reg. I have two ecms with the G6. Ran it for a while but its been off it for a long time.

For me, the ability to eliminate the SAI and its associated limp mode failure risk is worth it all alone.

This right here. 500 bucks, for all sorts of driveability improvements, possible mpg improvements etc etc. well worth it in my book. Plus i like to tinker! As mentioned before, the justdsm tune has made the truck pull smoother through all the revs, and overall just more lively. And this is all on shitty california 87 octane.

I'm sure it has been answered before in here and apologies because I forgot, but can you disable just the limp mode from the SAI? I know the whole thing can be disabled but I don't know if I want to go through the trouble of removing it entirely.

Just tuned the truck for the first time. Gonna drive it tomorrow morning and see how it feels. Just removed speed limiter. And removed codes for cats. And the p0136 code I keep getting for my 02 sensor. And did the @JustDSM throttle mapping. Can’t wait to see how it feels.

$0.60 more per gallon here. Don’t care. 93 is going in the truck. Still cheaper than a gallon of milk.

Supercharge nitrous and meth yellow vette. 960/945.
And boosted is fun, but you don't always have to be boosted to fly. Be careful of that spray to. :) PS. us NA guys ain't all bad either but we will sneak a button in there on ya. . :)

Thomas if you haven't tried meth yet, try it some time. Pure meth. No water meth mix. or those aftermarket mixtures. It added 45 HP to the vette. Got to turn the timing up by 2.

You can, problem is if the valve actually does get stuck open now you have exhaust going out the valve.

The smoother driveability and the MPG gains I'm seeing, I would purchase the HP Tuners product and seek out JustDSM's help in tuning again without question. I could have done headers or y-pipe for about the same cost with similar nominal gains, but there's so much more you get with this system that opens the door to future tunability and improvements to get the most out of any mod, even if it's not as big of gains as the boosted guys.

We just took the 2014 truck out on the first camping trip of the season. Loaded with 1500 pounds of gear, dogs and humans, driving a few hundred miles of highway, 50 miles of BLM Roads and some slower bumping around in 4Lo getting to camp spots. On our last trip before winter in October, driving the same route, same speeds, same load, I averaged 15.5MPG. This time with everything else the same but after having added a Demello bumper that is definitely not as aerodynamic as the stock tupperware, I averaged 19.1MPG. My wife also commented how the truck doesn't downshift to 3rd as much to climb hills on the highway and how she's never seen 200 miles on a half tank of fuel in the 10 years she's had her 2006 (we were averaging in the low 20's to Moab before we started dirt...even with a head wind).

Got it working this morning. An update on my POS laptop and reinstall of VCM seems to have fixed everything. I’ll be going to lunch in a few hours and I’ll get a good log. It will be with @JustDSM V1 tune.

There’s a lot of chatter, but there’s also some very good tech sprinkled through this thread too.

I’ve not used what he posted. Let us know how it works if you try it!

With this in mind. Would it be ideal for an NA guy to get the TRD Flash for the extra resolution and then configure the tables down to NA; also leaving the door open for FI in the future. Or too much work?

You lose ACIS by doing this, among some other things. Best to do it with boosted setups IMO.
