My stock(oem) toyota battery finally took a dump! Today i am picking up an Optima Red Top Battery and was wondering if anybody has used or is using one? And are they worth the money?

Pm Paul hbmurphy. He just got a new one. It's a big one supposedly and needs a little work making it fit. But well worth it. I will go his route when mine takes a dump too.

They are made by Johnson industries, the same company that makes the factory Toyota battery. I've never used one, but I've heard good things about them and have been considering buying one for my truck. I will be interested in reading posts from people that have used them.

Diehard platinum has good reviews from the offroad community. It's expensive but supposedly really good.

Not sure. I would get stock or maybe even bigger than stock though just to get more run time if you were running stuff with the truck off.

The Optima Yellow Top they say is for that extra runnn power you need to run all your extra electronics installed in your vehicle. But if you dont have a lot of electronics installed then they say the Red Top is what you need!:D

According to Optima's website, the 35 is the correct size for Tacomas. Good to know they fit without issues.:)

You might have issues with the 35. They say it fits, and it does, but the terminals are bassackwards. Thats why i had to get the 34R, because the terminals are reversed. If you want i can run out and take a pic.
