    Are Shell/Caps pricing negotiable?

I'm about to pull the trigger on an A.R.E. CX HD with pretty much all the options. Wondering how much Profit Margin there is for negotiation.

When I bought a fully optioned leer a few years ago they didn’t negotiate at all. The only discounts were incentives from the factory

I think that most items from small businesses are negotiable - I run a small business and run into this weekly.

Not sure about the profit margins on toppers, but most smaller businesses will give you between 5% and 15% discount if you pay with green cash. The main idea is that they don't necessarily have to report the sale and thus save upwards of 30% on taxes.

I got 12% off through talking to the owner when I bought my CX HD.

Not sure what price you're at, but I've been talking to a place about an ARE CX HD , with headliner and HD rack as the only options . And they are at $2295 plus tax . They tell me there is a sale on these, that they are running until the 15th of the month. I'm so tempted to pull the trigger

I would pull that trigger. That topper won't get any cheaper. I paid $2350 in cash (12% discount) and have locking side windows, headliner and the HD rack and installation of course.

I probably will, even though its 900 miles away, locally they want $4000 Canadian plus tax , so would save me a pile of money ....

Got a quote from the Local guy here in Norwalk, CA (more of an FYI for people doing research)

    CX HD Single T Door - $1980
    OTR - $420
2 Rope LED Lights - $169 ( could do this yourself easily, I wanted to avoid the hassle)
Glass Windoor - $126 each side
    Headliner - $130

They said they don't make the Vented Windoor for the Tacoma Shortbed, would like a second opinion on that....

He also suggested I buy the Rack Rails separate and install yourself. Apparently the ones coming from the factory are not mounted directly to the HD support beams. To handle more weight you can do it yourself with some DIY brackets (will update once I do this)

Have any of you seen the Cap Pack? https://www.cap-pack.com/

I'm trying to see if it will fit between the Inner support Rails

Would any of you that has a CX HD measure the inner distance between the Support Rails?

This Cap Pack is 36" wide, wondering if it will fit between

Here's local pricing for Atlanta, GA. See attached PDF.

I shopped around, all were within $50 of each other and weren't really willing to negotiate, even though I had tons of options (ARE MX with windoors, walk-in, toolbox).

The distance between the inner rails is 33", so I don't think it will fit between. You can probably make a bracket that would attach to the outside of the rails that hangs down.

Do you have a pic of the inner rails?

sub'ed and attached 2 quotes I got a week ago? One with the ARE Rails, and one with the yakima tracks, but that apparently didn't support the weight.
