Getting 1/2" top plate and 1/2" shim on the truck and getting new tires. The choices are:

    285/75/16 KO2s
    265/75/16 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

What would you guys recommend? I go wheeling and and worried about rub, but also worried the 265s will look too small..

    Thanks

Heres how it sits now with ko2 265s

Worried about UCA rub and having to heat gun the wheel well.

255 85 16? Usually no rubs with those and actually a tad bigger than 285s

I entertained that idea for a little, but I think they are a little thin for my liking :/

Spacers or rims to clear the uca's. Heat guning the plastic is no biggy, no one will know but you.

I ended up with 285s as well. They just look right. I didn't want to push the wheels out but has to be done. And I like it when in the ruts off road a lot better. That extra inch really gets you away from the wall

I'm hoping the trd pro rims have enough offset, also hoping to avoid cmc

You might want to consider a regear in the equation too. It dosent bother me, but some people don't like the new final ratio your bigger tires give. The expense makes them switch back to smaller tires.

Autos usually notice more than manuals, I just thought I'd throw that out though.

With that little bit if increase 265s will look fine. If you go with 265s no need for a speedometer calibration, extra weight, no need to put extra stress on the already weak breaks. Bfg's flat out suck at being perfectly balanced, Nittos are sweet, however I'm super impressed with the Toyo Open country at2 SL, light and barley took weight. 60k mile warranty and ride for 500 miles if you don't like them return them. The toyo tires are an awesome all around tire.IMG_20190502_070948422_HDR.jpg

Bilstein 5100s and one inch rear block
With 1/4 shim for the taco lean. Looks like your running the sema 4r wheels. You going to need a 17 inch tire not 16s.

285s and your going to need to remove the mud guards. It will rub.

I like the look of 265’s myself. 285’s look like balloons on these trucks to my eyes. Very little to be gained, and a lot of downside to the bigger tires.

My ride on 265/70/17. No spacers, OEM TRD 4Runner Pro Wheels.
