Yup. Then 85 should go into the hot side of your switch, then the ground goes back outside.

It almost looks like that blue line in the pic should be moved to the bottom right

 

Are you talking these 3 green wires?

 

There is a red wire and a black wire coming from the light bar. I wired the red as a positive and the black as a neg.

 

No. I am referring to the 3 green wires on the Fuse block. Two of those three begin at the back of the light switches in the photo.

 

here is a simple relay wiring set up the 86 numbering moved up it is the number for the relay term

I think I may know what the problem may be. Is the negative/ground connections on the Blue Seas fuse block common or individual to the corresponding hot/pos connector?

If they are individual that's my problem most likely as I think I wired it up as if they were common.

When I get home tonight (if its still daylight) I'm going to check:
1. Light bar connection- make sure its not backward.
2. Put in a different relay, maybe I just have a bad one?
3. Double check my wiring.

 

OP you say you have a wire tape going, which we can see in the picture. But then you have the picture of the relays with a jumper wire grabbing two pins across the top of those relays. The only time that should be done is if youre supplying a common power lead for both accessory power and switching power, but then you wouldn't need the wire tap for the switch any more. Any more info on what you have going on there?

 

If you are looking at the photo with the green wires looped, that's the back of the switchplate not the relays.

Do you have a other person around? What if you hit the switch, can they hear the relay make its clicking noise?

I'd test the relay with some spare wire in the engine bay. Just jump it out there and make sure the relay is clicking. Bypass the switch for the time being.

You can also leave the switch on and disconnect from the back of the relay if you have spade connectors back there and do the same thing

 

Part of me is wondering if I should use a 4 prong relay instead of the 5 prong I have now. I think its pin 87a that is not being used at all. Nor is it wired to anything.
Should I maybe jump 87 and 87a together?
Or connect 87a and leave 87 blank?
