Well I can say now it is the very beginning of a lifetime journey with aftermarket Tacoma. I plan on having the truck at least 20 more years...if not 30! But I’m dead serious unless it blows up on fire

For mine I did a leveling kit and did 265 10 ply tires with 18 inch rims. It was an amazing difference and the truck drove more comfortable. That's if you are not wanting to spend a ton of cash on the lift. I also took out 2 manufacturing leaf springs and added 4 leaf springs for extra hauling weight which also lifted the back end 2 inches higher .

This sounds pretty good, I thought adding leaf springs would raise it. I don’t want a rake at the moment but if the level kit matches the new height of back In I would do this. I know for sure I have to replace all shocks and front coil spring both are cracked. But I’m sure with all the new stuff should ride great and have a small but better on performance for light off road

All right got the new headlights in and just gotta get roof and hood painted. Leveling out my Tacoma is still an issue.

I Have to replace front coil springs and stirs. “If that’s what they are called” I have seen bilstein coils and struts and back shocks with and without the leaf.

Now I don’t want a big rake and most certainly do not want my nose higher than the azz. Sorry brotato’s... Don’t need it for crazy off-roading but I do go camping occasionally crossing creeks “shallow and rocky” the occasional dirt with holes and little mud/sand.

My problem is I do not want to go over 2in in front as I don’t want too much stress from a 3in lift or higher. I do have to buy all the way around shocks/struts so if I’m gonna stick new ones under just go ahead and level out the front and get a little more room with a little better performance.

Wheels alone will make the biggest visual difference

    my vote....
Front: Toytec TTAFCS-HA (Bilstein 5100+600lb coils)
Rear: 5100s + DAKAR HD leaf packs (i say HD because once they fatigue they will settle a bit and the MD can sometimes make the back end tof the truck look saggy)

Nice thanks for the thumbnail. Definitely do not want back to sag and wanted to keep it under 2in. If my coils were not cracked I would just get the Bilstein but gotta get them all the way around anyhow so mine as well do it right

This sounds like what I need. Not too big and I had to replace them bc of crack you can see in pictures. I’m not sure what HS is at the moment but it seems a lot of you guys swear by this setup and doesn’t break the bank. Perfect. So if I do this I don’t have to mess with UCA or anything else. Just stick these on and ride?!

Yeah wheels will make the biggest difference! But then again I the coil springs in front are cracked at the top :( so I gotta start with most important. But then, then paint hood roof. But then wheels and it will be the best part :D

A set of third gen take off wheels is ~350-400 and a complete 3rd gen takeoff suspension is even cheaper.

    All in for sub $600.

1 inch lift and a fresh set of updated wheels.

 That would save a good bit of money and could apply it towards tires  looks like I have enough options to go with. And this through a monkey wrench in the pile....I didn’t realize a 3 gen was an option with suspension:rolleyes:.

There are a couple threads on both the take off wheels and suspension (shocks/springs).

I scored a 3000 mile 3rd gen TRD OR suspension take off set for $200: full front struts assembled w/ top hats, rear shocks, and rear leafs. Definitely a decent way go if you arent into anything too crazy.

Tacomaworld buy/sell/trade section, actually. They get posted up every once in a while as guys are swapping out stock suspension for 3+" lifts. Keep an eye on the 3rd gen marketplace inside there. There were also a few sets of takeoffs on ebay last I looked, but those were closer to the $300-400 mark after shipping.
